I did not realize how much of an epidemic scamming was until I found myself in the middle of it. There are so many people out there who are falling for these scams that to many of us consider "obvious." These scammers are professional in what they are doing, having the appropriate resources and knowledge on the people they are contacting.

You can see the compassion in this Uber drivers body language and voice. He feels the $3,000 loss as if it was his loss. He truly understands what it means to mourn with those that mourn. Comfort those in need of comfort etc.

I work at a bank in the fraud/investigations dept and knew it was a scam from the beginning but when he said he fed money through the machine I screamed “DAMN”. People lose money everyday to scammers and these scammers are getting better at their job everyday. I heard so many stories, spoke to so many victims 😢

It’s honestly good that you told him right away, that the money is lost. You saved him weeks of wondering, fighting and being upset for nothing. This way he can move on.

This is the best example for how communication can save us, communication can help us solve problems. To ask others how they are and mean it, and answer honestly, can save you from getting scammed for example. I’m so happy there are people out there that are genuinely nice, vigil, and want to help. There are so many scams out there in the meantime and it’s essay at times to fall for it. It’s better to be careful, ask questions, ask identifications etc. That is an awesome Uber driver!🎉

I feel like it is time we start implementing this stuff in the schoolsystem. Teach kids how to recognize a scam and what to do when they are contacted.
