As kids we were forced to take cod liver oil, but as soon as I grew older I stopped. Started getting sinusitis several times each winter, in my 20's, and then one winter after having had it three times (my doctor always prescribed antibiotics without testing me basically), I started with the cod liver oil again. Never had it again, and I'm in my 50's now.

  • 🌺 The one thing I would highly recommend, is to refrigerate your omega 3 supplements, it'll help to keep them from turning rancid.
  • @gloriadiflorio4610
I was intrigued with your use of the PRN omega 3 supplement, so I tried it. After having suffered with dry eye for many years and just taking any old fish oil product, I have found that this one works. Staying with it for 3 months did the trick! My eyes are very moist and I can read comfortably. Thanks for doing the research!

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤ I developed severe dry eye and I didn't know how I'd continue living my life. After watching your video I persistently took 1 spoon of high quality fish oil for 6+ months, now I could say my symptoms improved 6/10. This is more than enough to go on with my life.
  • As kids, we were forced to take fish oil, but as soon as I got older, I stopped. I think now I should take fish oil again for my eyes as well as my health! Thanks for sharing!

I got one for you. My Cardiologist fired me because I told him my heart rhythm smoothed out and my joint ache went away after taking Omega 3 (450mg) of EPA /DHA. One per day. I rumated why the Medical community hadn't told me about this before? HE took offense. However he's always ready to write a Rx. I told him it's time he retired.
  • Pretty severe dry eye symptoms is something I at 75 of age only recently began to experience . . . for the last 3 months. And, I've had cataracts developing for about 2 years. I asked two experienced optometrists if there were any dietary or nutritional inputs which could ameliorate either of these two conditions, and both seemed surprised by the question; and both said no, and both recommended that aside from eventual surgery for the cataracts in the next 12 months or so, only eye drops and mild heat treatment would help . . . for the rest of my life. This video is, pardon the phrase, a real eye opener. I'm especially interested in the Omegaquant test which I'll followup on. Thanks you, doctor for a well produced video. Very helpful.

WOW...I have been taking Omega 3 for several weeks now and I luckily fell upon your channel. I would conform that I have had dry eye syndrome since I can remember and until today since I saw your video I can confirm I my eyes feel sooo much better!! Not squinting as much and no hot towels needed lately. Thank you!
  • @DeAnneLynne
Love your Channel—THANK YOU!! I suffer from DED with MGD, Evaporative Tears and Occular surface erosion. I am on the PRN De3 (1/day)…and just ordered my Omega 3 test (inspired)! I appreciate any and all evidence based dry eye disease information, studies etc. I have oMGlands which I am contemplating getting probed for fear of losing them to atrophy. I do everything I’ve been told to do, warm compress, Omega 3, lid hygiene, preservative free drops, night ointment, on prescription xiidra, I’ve done IPL, just started daily eye massager and ultrasonic nebulizer—really frustrated but still hopeful. Look forward to any videos/info you may do or offer on probing of Meibomian glands!!
  • Omg I swear my algorithm is starting to read my mind! Was literally just thinking about my dry eyes today and wondering if suppliments are even effective and what suppliments work best and then your video came up on my feed! Thank you for sharing this! I do take omega three for mental health, but not very consistently and only at about half the recommended dose. Lately my dry eyes, especially on my left eye, have been way worse than normal (especially when i sleep for some reason), but ive also been quite infrequent with my suppliment lately too. I'm going to switch up to a full dose and do it regularly and see what happens. I will probably still go get my eyes checked out soon, but I feel like this cant hurt! Thanks for sharing ❤
  • @Rhinozzzz
I am here to say thank you! I sit in front of a bunch of computer screens every day and have always had dry eyes to the point that I can not wear contacts. I had an eye Dr visit coming up and looked on YouTube for some ideas or inspiration and found you. I talked with my Dr about the PRN product and he said that he had heard good things about Omega3, but just didnt know enough about it? This is a GREAT eye Dr in a very nice suburb of Houston! So I bought the PRN product off of Amazon and it has been amazing! I am now on my 3rd bottle. My 8 year old daughter will look at my eyes sometimes and ask me if I am crying or going to cry. I dont know if my eye ducts (?) have gone on overdrive now that they have the Omega3, but I dont have symptoms anymore. Thank you for your great presentation. It worked for me.
  • @brianmsahin
This video just popped up on my feed and found it very interesting. We have been taking Omega 3 ( a well known Norwegian brand of cod liver oil) just for general health reasons and I've just realized that though I have suffered from dry eyes in the past, for a number of months now it hasn't recurred. I never thought about it until seeing your video but maybe I am having the same results! Thanks for the video!
  • @Ltmotley
I have been taking Krill Oil for a decade but primarily for heart health. This added benefit for eye health that you have explained so well, is a bonus. Also, love your PAC-Man shirt. Appreciate your intelligence, research and diligence. You are helping many people, and we appreciate all you do.
  • My optometrist recommended the De3 supplement for dry eyes. Since I eat sardines and salmon on a regular basis, she suggested one instead of the full dose. When I was taking the omegas on a regular basis several years ago my dry eye symptoms went away. I know that omega 3 works for dry eyes and will never slack off them again.

Thank you for the long time you tested and the “not an ad” qualifiers. Glad you found something that helped & shared a positive experience. Personally, I have found that Omega-3, in the doses you described, also help with my Attention issues and overall skin complexion. I grew up with some big food intolerances so I’ve always needed vitamin supplements. I have become VERY curious & critical of vitamin processing because higher quality vitamins made me feel better. Fish oil is one I looked into A LOT just so I could avoid buying rancid oil (fishy burps are gross😅) and The way you touched on EPA/DHA levels is quite important. Thanks again.
