You can do it. Filed chapter 7, and now have a 726 fico score. After you file, you should dispute all late payments. File it under chapter 7, hopefully they'll be removed. When I filed I was at 587 after disputing every 99 days for about a year my fico (not fake a** advantage score) shot up to 612, then 692, then finally 726!

I didn’t want to file bankruptcy but had no other choice. The time I had with a delinquent credit card ran out and they froze my checking account without any prior notice. So I had to file bankruptcy after my account was frozen now I’m waiting for the hold on my account to be lifted. I believe it’s deceptive practice to freeze someone’s account with no notice or at least a final 30 day notice to try to work something out. The frustrating part for me is I work full time never been careless with money and still had to file bankruptcy. I had an emergency dental care situation that required me to max out a credit card and I wasn’t able to get ahead of the payments and intrest rates. It’s so easy to get in debt and so hard to get out.

Do you think lawyers and trustuees are in cahoots? I filed chapter 13 and my 5 years will be done in july, but since ive been divorced like 2 years ago and i thought after, becauae just my income, that i could convert to ch 7. My lawyer said i still made too much by some calculations, but i was working o.t. those 6 months. So my true pay was lower. No other lawyer would talk to me since i had one already. Kind of felt scammed, but i see the finishline soon. Glad to put it all behind me soon. What ive learned is file before you get married because they combine incomes even if your spouse isnt filing. Hindsight is 20/20.
  • I’m not attaching myself with nobody’s account… life happens the score go down so does your nope!!!
  • So to improve my credit score, should I use my credit cards and pay them in full at the end of the month or carry a low balance on them continuously? Thanks.

Do late reports from before filing continue to show after discharge? I have 10 that are 30+ late and another 10 showing 90+ late. I thought it was supposed to be a clean slate? But in my case it doesn't seem to be the case.
  • I did chapter 7 bankruptcy 2014 and in 2024 it will be 10 years, am I going to get 100 points on my credit score?
