It's Adam Koralik here and today we're checking out the original Xbox HDMI adapter by Chimeric Systems. It takes the original digital component signal and converts it to HDMI. Unlike many alternatives by Pound, Hyperkin, Kaico, and more, it actually does this...correctly.

Thanks for the great review! For the record, I'm a one man shop, I dont purposely limit my sales, This was started as a side business and I hadnt planned on things going so well! That and COVID has made things go even slower. I'm working on increasing production, but I havent been able to get anyone to make cables to my specs, its one of the reasons my stock is so limited, I'm not willing to go with a crap cable. ( I am Chimeric Systems)

As much as I appreciate it, I‘m sick of all of these hobbyists creating great solutions in limited quantities. Can anyone with a bit of business knowledge step in and help these guys out?

I've been waiting awhile for this review lol
  • I'm currently running the official HD AV pack through an OSSC and it looks absolutely amazing. It's always good to have new options on the market, though and even though I'm completely happy with my setup, I'm glad people now have a more affordable and high quality option.

Great video! I love mine! Also love the blue xbox, got one a few years ago, they are beautiful. Keep up the amazing work!!

Will have to keep my eye out for these in the future.
  • I currently use the HD AV pack on my 1.6b Xbox (that's the last version of the original Xbox), and my soundbar has a toslink port, so I can use the surround sound modes (in addition to Dolby Digital, the Xbox also supports DTS). Your videos convinced me to buy the AV pack three years ago.

There was a set of just straight component cables from Microsoft as well, they're just as good as the HD pack. Just to clarify that there was another good component option
  • Love the video like always. Been looking forward to you reviewing that. I got one and got lucky. I was disappointed bc it wouldn't work on my tv bc I have alot of systems hooked up with three splitters. But I bought a hdmi repeater and now it works with the mclassic and it looks amazing.

Man I remember watching you when I was around 13 or so. I liked watching your retro game reviews as those consoles were all I could afford. Nice to know your still posting man and doing well. Cheers!

Perfectly timed video , great 👍 job was just needing alternative pound hdmi and monster components;)

I have one of these. One note to add. The Pound HDMI cable needs the external power plugged in for optimal performance in some cases. The Chimeric HDMI does not since its all integrated into one cable. A very clean single wire solution.

I'm glad to have one of these since I'm a big audio guy. Having dolby digital support is a big deal to me.
  • Finally got my Chimeric adapter. It beats the absolute shit out of the Pound cable.

Funny how I keep researching products and keep getting recomended to you by youtube. Love that you've reviewed every thing I've looked up so far like the eon gc hd and the mclassic. You should run a blog or some tutorials.
  • Just got mine in the mail paired it up to an mClassic on my 65" OLED playing Burnout 3...omg wow. Honestly looks like an early 360 game, so crisp and no jaggies etc. Amazing, worth every penny and the long wait!! Thank you Aaron :)
