Jon is absolutely pissed that Richie sold his part of the catalog. His reaction when Howard told him says everything.

It's all estate planning. My guess is Jon reviewed it with his adult children and they agree not to sell. The value will increase for sure. The only problem is as Jon's kids have kids and the amount of people involve expands then it gets messy. I would not be surprised if Jon sells his catalogue as he reaches his late 70's.
  • I heard Boeing reconsidered using 'Livin on a Prayer' for its 737 Max campaign.

I really appreciate Jon wanting to keep his music catalog. I understand why other musicians sell their catalogs, but there is something cool about holding on to things that you create and holding them close

Completely surprised Ritchie would do this with his music

I don't understand how this works. If you co wrote a song and half is Jon's the other is Richie's that Jon has control over what happens to that song. Does Jon have fiinal say as to how it's used??
  • Why sell your catalogue? If you want to give your family economic security. Sell it. But if they are economically secure, let the ownership of the catalog stay in the family. That way, your legacy will provide for generations.
  • KISS just sold their catalog for around $300 million……generational wealth immediately

People commenting Bon Jovi only wrote 2-3 good songs, give your heads a shake. Play These Days or Crush end-to-end then come back and say that…

Howard Stern, catalog broker. Is he getting a cut from Concord or Sound Royalties?
