I would never doubt what Jonas can do. Until last year's Vuelta, I didn't like or cheer for him. However, he really showed what an unselfish teammate he was. He seems like a good guy and is modest.

I do not think his injuries are in the same league as Froomedogs or Bernal's . Its just the healing process . He looks in good nick weight wise . Confidence might be an issue possibly. Nothing to lose really . He either comes back great or is off a bit . No body would judge a below par showing and be to critical .
  • I had a similar crash a few years ago with similar injuries, and recovery was pretty smooth and quick. When I crashed broke my hip and femur, that was a longer recovery, but I got back and stronger even after that.
  • I have come to really appreciate this guy, I hope he gets well soon. Maybe the Vuelta would be a great starting point...

I think he should look after himself and bugger the bloody Tour de France if he's not really ready to compete You only have one body you only have one life.

Thankyou so much for the update. I had heard nothing since his crash. Good recovery Jonas!

So fast back on the bike! Actually, I think he will come back even stronger!

Each recovery is different and mostly mental and difficult to control. I hope for the best.
  • Visma was my favorite team last season and Jonas was fantastic in so many races until his recent accident, one of the transcendent riders, no question. And I cheer for him to make a full recovery, as I do for all riders, I hate crashes and the injuries they inflict. Yet, given the severity of what Jonas suffered, I think it is great he made this promotional appearance, especially when his rival Tadej is earning all the headlines in Italy, and if he can participate in the Tour, wow, good for him. But wouldn't it be a sort of LeMond in '89 situation, when Greg returned from injury and his greatest rival, Laurent Fignoun, was at the pinnacle of his career? His fans were happy to see Greg back in action, yet expectations were rightfully tempered and any solid performance would have been a success. And we know that he far exceeded expectations and that made his victory even more incredulous and joyous. So I think if Jonas comes into the Tour like that, no expectations, it would be seen as a win for him, a huge step in his recovery and maybe next year for more. 😀

Good luck Jonas. Best rider over the past few years when peaking for a Grand Tour but Pogi is the best overall rider in the world at the moment.
  • That is good to see Jonas V in good health, recovering and riding . Hopefully he will make full recovery soon and wish him well in future .
  • Prayers for a speedy recovery for Jonas! Hopefully he will fully recover and continue to be a dominant force in cycling! The Tour de France will not be the same without him.

He knows if it’s right to go TDF or not…. What we think is irrelevant… I hope he will recover and knowing jonas is a sensitive and a thinker, I’m confident in the decision he makes. As a Dane I hope he can win if he competes, but I don’t wanna see him struggle and not able to perform. Then it’s better to come back in 2025. Jonas and pogacar is setting the TDF alive and I hope we all can enjoy the spectacle of them competing. It’s a magnificent performance to watch them compete ❤

He's a great champion and ambassador for decorum, respect, and character. His legacy will include a comeback from severe adversity as he reaches for the highest levels of the sport.
  • @kkryspin
Why wouldn't he be the same? It's not like he crashed like Froom or Bernal where he had Broken right femur, Broken patella, Broken ribs, Facial fractures, and Punctured lung. Let's go TDF!!!!!
  • @CaminoCarpet
Pogacar the only one not injured. Looks like he could win the Triple Crown of races with the big 3 out with injuries.
