Did anyone else notice Rayner pull his top down before he sat in the Captains chair? 🤔👍

My favorite parts of this episode is the Saru and T'Rina scenes, I'm more excited to see their wedding than anything else.
  • I love Rayner, one of the best characters in Trek.... I wish we could have more ❤

Adira dropped the shields from the bridge -- Stamets worked to bring down the forcefields around the hangar bay with that maneuver.

I met Doug Jones last year at the Creature Feature Convention where my movie was premiering which I assume is when he was gone for filming this show. Sweetest man ever. I have been a fan since he was in the episode "Hush" of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and followed him since then. What a talent! And very genuine. He is fantastic on this show and it's incredible how he can convey so much emotion through prosthetics the way that he does.

Nick, you are point in this review. I completely agree with you in that during a mission, personal feelings should be set aside , with only focus on the mission. I rolled my eyes seeing Book and Burnham discussing their emotions in the corner somewhere, acting not like a Breen...easy way to be caught. The 2 Black hole scenes didn't make sense to me other. It was just an okay episode. I liked seeing Rayner take control and Saru and T'rina showing much respect for one another. Doug Jones absence in this season has been noticeable.
  • Its always like this, they lose a lot of time on unnecessary arcs and when we reach the end of the story they go with it faster than light, many times lacking the necessary explanation over some important pieces of the story.
  • Another excellent video my friend, yours is always the first review I watch because you call it like you see it. I really enjoyed this episode. Discovery has always been hit and miss but this season it has been hitting more than missing, not a bad way to go out. 🖖✌️

What happened to Stamets identity crisis and lack of legacy, and Culbers spiritual awakening from earlier this season? No character development again for the cast
  • If you think you may die, then talking about yourselves makes sense.
  • But damned you can't just enjoy what you have in front of you !!!
You know we don't care about the Discovery's capabilities in real life, we want spectacle, heroism, before the last episode of the series ! What we want is real captains and strong characters,
and I think Captain Burnham is in the line of strong Starfleet captains ! Instead of detecting the slightest anomaly in the scenario try to appreciate what you have !
  • That view was them manuvering out from the LaGrange point. The angle of the view is what is confusing you. Also, the LaGrange point is not a small point, it is a larger area from which the ship can escape from the extreme graviational forces of both stars.
The transporter buffer is a well established ST trope to preserve individuals over time. That there would be a more portable version, 800 years in the future, is predictable, in fact I thought of that as a possiblility as soon as La'ak died.
  • I wonder if the writers were given a hint that this was the final season. Earlier episodes had no sense of urgency yet now there definitely is a feel of time running out.

LOVE the tee! Is that available in your shop?
  • Sometimes I feel I'm watching that late 70's sitcom: "The Love Boat" instead of a show about a military vessel on a desperate mission. I'm waiting for them to call Booker the name Gopher (a character on The Love Boat). Could you imagine some subordinate telling a commanding officer to sit down on a real military ship? Four relationship story lines in one episode that really nobody cares about.
  • The new first officer is a breath of fresh CRISP air!
He's the highlight of this entire season, for me.
LOVE how Discover pulled its necels up and in while going into the breen shuttle bay! LOOKS so much better that way!
Was a pretty good episode, all things considered. Sets up a good battle for the finale.

Great video mate, For this episode why was the Breen ship not affected by the black hole (or badlands storms in previous episode). Equally why does it stop firing back once Discovery crew are beamed back off the dreadnaught?
  • @azordash_games
    Great review as always…
I can only think that the chat about emotions on the Breen ship was to potentially set up an emotional scene in the finale… but who knows.
