"Pay to play" - that is classic corruption.

The last thing Oakland needs is an ineffective mayor, who is in over her head. Thao should resign from the office. The recall on her is moving forward anyway.

The FBI doesn't call the subject for consent or to make an appointment to conduct a raid, Mr. Brass.

I didn’t know that you were supposed to tell the person that you’re going to RAID their home ahead of time. What a bunch of idiots..

She went from renting a place to owning multiple properties just in the span of a couple years after becoming mayor. Are we really shocked?

Renia Webb is totally honest for an ex-chief of staff. Good for her for resigning & coming forward with her side of the story. 👍🏻

Anyone, who thinks there is such a thing as an honest politician is naive.
  • When a lawyer says "it was my assumption" then it is not a good sign.
  • Ok, Renia Webb should be running for Mayor. If you are someone of integrity that would actually resign because of a personal code of ethics, you are the type of person we NEED in leadership

A 'Chief of Staff' in a mayor's office made $200K? I find that absurd.

A lady comes to the news and says its pay to play. Instead of investigating, they ask for evidence, and then drop it

The FBI does not do these type of raids without a hard paper trail evidence ahead of time.

If the claims are true that she claimed the woman had mental health issues, then this is standard operating procedure for these kinds of people and she’s gotten guidance from somewhere else. This is huge.

No matter who you put in office as mayor in Oakland that city can’t be help.

I didn’t know that you were supposed to tell the person that you’re going to RAID their home ahead of time. What a bunch of idiots.. I bet the husband is doing all the wheeling and dealing.
  • Corrupt politicians in Oakland hard to believe such a safe beautiful well run city she got the crime rate down to 175% higher than the national average she's an angel
  • I am here because I saw video not too long ago about old people being put out on the streets in Oakland-black folks who had lived in their places for a long time, getting by and, the way it was described, covid caused a bunch of back rent to add up (I start getting upset here) and now they're supposed to pay it and actually being put out of their homes. Elders!!! When I was growing up, in the 60's and 70's my dad was always taking me to Oakland to shop on the way to or from the airport and we were always the palest people there, which I think my dad loved. We swam in a sea of rich dark faces (we were stared at too, which makes me smile to picture it). ANYWAY, when I saw those older folks being kicked out of their houses because they were renters and covid shenanigans happened to us, was forced upon us, I wondered what corrupt greed was going on in Oakland these days, chasing out black people like they did to the Latinos in their San Francisco neighborhood. If they had owned, the property taxes were probably raised to the point of the elderly not being able to keep their own property where they raised their family and wanted to grow old and die in. That happened up here in Seattle decades ago--the best views, placement, whatever those people had their taxes raised to the point they lost their homes. Our world is shameless right now. Put all of these people in jail and look out for your old people! They are treasure, go find out!
