I really could do with something like this to show me the right direction and record my progress after returning to cycling after 22 years! Thank you for sharing your story and being an inspiration to get back on the saddle and get my fitness back and the weight down ❤
  • As a new rider I was unsure if I was too new to need something like this but thanks to your very practical guide and daily use examples I can see where these could be lifesavers! Thank you.

Great video explaining these new Garmin devices. I have been following your channel for a while and have finally bought myself my first ever road bike (at age 40!!!). Quite a few items I still need to purchase including a head unit so I can get up and going and start training and getting fitter (hence me watching this video as I was thinking about getting one of these). I have found a lot of useful information on your channel and will continue watching your content, so thank you and keep it up.

started cycling just under two years ago, and you're one of the first people/channels i watched back then. your rides and vibe has inspired me so much that my main goal as a cyclist is to be an ultra endurance rider in the future (no time nor money right now as i'm still a student). the only places i've ridden so far are cycling spots that we could ride laps in and just a couple of mountains that i go to with my friend and his dad as i'm not familiar with the routes. i'd love to conquer famous loops here where i live such as a 200k loop around a massive lake and do a multi day trip from home to across the island and visit the highest point in my country's highway system, and having a computer with gps capabilities would definitely help especially as i like to ride solo a lot. that solar feature would be perfect too as i live in a very sunny tropical country lol. love what you do and please don't stop!

Hi Katie, I'm planning on riding the Fred Whitton next year. one of these head units would help amazingly not only with training but pacing the climbs on the day and reminding me when to eat and drink. Love the channel. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for this. Really informative without muddling my head with lots of technical stuff. Didn't even know these units could do half the things you mentioned! As a complete newbie to road cycling I'll have to pick one up just to track my progress and work towards my first 50k ride!
  • @ames_taylor
Super useful video thanks! So many features I didn't realise they had. Love to get in to some bikepacking adventures this year.
  • @joshichitra84
thank you so much for this video katie! really helped me zero down on the bike computer that I want. Have a good one!
  • I'm going to do the Camino de Santiago this summer. Love your channel, keep up the positive vibes! ✌️❤️🚲
  • @LongStep
Great review! I appreciate how you personalized the review showing how you use these functions. I would be using the Garmin Edge to train for Ragbrai in Iowa.

Wow that’s awesome Katie. Would love to use one for multi day bikepacking adventures and local routes. I do love your videos, follow your journey’s and amazed at your adventures. Always gives me great inspiration to get out riding and plan epic adventures.
  • Thanks Katie! After getting both my mountain bike and my gravel bike stolen out of my garage last fall, I've decided to go all in with road cycling and got a new bike, which I haven't been able to ride outdoors due to cold wet weather. I'd love a Garmin Edge computer to explore the beautiful St. Croix River bluffs near my home in Minnesota. That auto climb pro would be so nice to help me get better at climbs and kick off my summer of fitness and weight loss. Love your content and am now subscribed! Thanks Again!
  • KK - Love your videos & your enthusiasm for everything cycling!! I've just joined a cycling group that meet weekly so I want to use a cycle computer for my training on my weight loss journey, I've also got a ride booked up for june over in France so it will be handy for that. Keep the vids coming!!
  • @PaulWhitney84
Thanks for the focused review. My upcoming event is the Ride Aroind Mt Rainier in Ine Day. I last did that rode 20 years ago, and I am looking forward to revisiting this cycling event.
  • Thanks for the content. Really enjoy your ride videos. I got a 1030edge last year for a transcontinental tour. Love it. I'm still learning to use all the training and route features. Only wish it had real time climb function like the new solar models. Have been looking at the new 500 and 800 series for my wife to use this Fall in Tuscany and in Japan next Spring. Thanks for this review. Really helped.

Another grrrrreat video, Katie! This year I'm going to head out and track down the hills, as I love to climb, but don't have many on my doorstep. My plan is to just ride, rather than plot a route, to make it more interesting and see what I find. Having a Garmin like this, means I will be able to see what gradient I'm on AND which way to turn to find the next climb!! 🙂
  • Enjoy your channel and honest reviews. Love the climb feature and look forward to having doing 100miles on the Ring of Kerry in July.
  • @broccoliboy25
Great video - that solar feature looks ace! I did my first bikepacking trip last year - 2 days by taking a train ride from my hometown, then cycling back! You're right that charging devices on the go is a pain in the ass! My partner and I are targeting a multi-day trip to the Netherlands in the summer, so a solar unit would be awesome! Thanks for all the insights into the new features coming into these units - there's lots to get excited about! :D
  • @balosahan6990
These devices are capable of so much! Planning to do my first multi-day ride from Oxford to Glasgow this summer. Google maps on my phone just doesn't quite do the job when I'm out on the bike trying to navigate. Thanks for teaching me so much about cycling 🙌🏼
  • Thanks for the tips and tricks Katie! I’ve got the Tour O The Borders sportive coming up in September - my first road event. I’m still donning the gravel tyres on my bike which work well as both resistance training for the road event and for gravel and bikepacking adventures in the meantime. I’m looking forward to exploring more of Scotland by bike this summer. A gps that doesn’t rely on phone connection/battery sounds like a game changer 😊
