Thought we'd have to wait a little longer for a full ride POV of Tianas Bayou Adventure (has a theme park ever done this before?). So even though we just did a review of the previous footage revealed...we're doing it again because it's the whole thing! Will it answer questions you might have had? Make it better? Make it worse? Let's join Tiana and find out!

Even Mr. Toad's had an Introduction, Conflict, and Resolution.

Thereā€™s legit more tension on the Pooh ride than this
  • Imagine a Snow White ride without the witch, thatā€™s what this ride is.
  • Ultimately I think the biggest missed opportunity is the villain and using him as the build up to the drop instead of mama odie
  • @bossloco
It sounds like youā€™re trying to talk yourself into liking the new ride.

Ride animatronics look great and the visuals match that. However, the ride isnā€™t very fun. Thereā€™s nothing going on to excite the people riding it. As many others have said and commented, thereā€™s no ā€œdangerā€

There's no story. There's no climax. There's no antagonist. There's no "adventure". It is completely creatively bankrupt.

The bear on his back playing with a hive was replaced by an oversized bottle

A weak, dark ride has replaced an iconic, loved ride. One time will be enough and not worth standing in a long ride. Very sadšŸ˜«

"Oh I see, I like that. Yeah. Ok I think that was good. The bottles, yeah the bottles. I like that better than what was there before. I think, oh yeah I see. Ok yeah that's different, I like it. That music fits because it's New Orleans. Yeah ok I see." TRANSLATION: "What did they do to my beloved ride? This is HORRIBLE but I don't want to lose my precious Disney access so I will be totally vague and then claim to like it."

I like to believe the armadillo is Facilier just kind of stalking us like the crow in the Mansion

RIP Splash Mountain, you died for nothing.

There are 3 signs over sections of the Tiana flume ride that make me think of "Applause" signs held up in front of TV studio audiences to make them clap at certain moments of a TV program.

The ride looks nice, but there is so much dead space in between the various scenes that it isnā€™t anywhere near as lively as Splash was. I didnā€™t find the story very riveting, either. That is just my opinion however, and not one based on personally riding it yet.

They forgot the part where it tells a story. Why is peril or excitement not a thing in Disney anymore?
  • @TheMiketwo
They could have kept so many of those critter animatronic but instead they purposely made the ride dark to hide the fact there are less to see
  • @chadwpalm
I think the biggest issue is that by putting it in Splash Mountain's structure, we are forced to compare the two. This story (or whatever you want to call it) would have served well as a C-Ticket Fantasyland dark ride. There would be less dead-space and you can pace the story better because you are building from scratch. You can't shoehorn a C-Ticket into a purpose built structure meant for an E-Ticket. Fancy animatronics, lighting, and projections aren't what makes something an E-Ticket. What you said about exposition is spot on. A good attraction doesn't need it. "Lets help Louis find a band", "That's a good band lets keep looking", "That one's good too", "I'm gonna shrink you", "I'm gonna unshrink you", "Now you're big and can go to the party and celebrate having literally done nothing of consequence". The End.

All you need to ask yourself is "is it worth getting wet to see this ride" I dont believe it is. Splash was, it had excitement, energy, and thrill. Tiana's doesnt to me, is a very simple plot. Personally I do not prefer rides being changed, however I know Disney can do great work on ride changes (examples: Gardians of the Galaxy (fantastic ride), Incredicoster, Snow whites enchanted wish, Finding Nemo Submarine, etc). This ride does not fill the shoes Splash mountain left. To me it screams rushed, rushed, rushed, rushed, and not done for the right reasons unfortunately.

Feels like a one and done ride to me. I think they dropped the ball by eliminating any kind of danger or villains from TBA. I mean I know Dr. Facilier died in the movie, but he was probably the best character in that film. They could've easily resurrected him as a ghost, etc. I'm sure Keith David wouldn't have minded reprising his role as well.
