In this video we take a look at the liveliest part of Istanbul, Taksim and Beyoğlu. We visit some famous places and find out the history behind this very special district of Istanbul which was as famous as Trafalgar square in London over 100 years ago and why it still is today.

Thanks guys for another fabulous video of Istanbul- I have just returned to Australia after my 14 day tour of Turkiye- what an amazing country - we didn't spend as much time in Istanbul as I would have preferred but that leaves me more of this amazing vibrant city to explore for next time. I visited there in February of this year for 19 days. The restaurants were quite pricey, but I discovered that just across the borough or on the Asian side of Istanbul, I found much more affordable and authentic cuisine.
