I'm excited to try these techniques. We thought we adopted a black German Shepherd, but folks that saw him suspected he is actually a Belgium Malinios. He was only biting and nipping me so that's why I'm here. I will get him into obedience training, but really need to get the biting under control. Thank you for the guidance.
  • We had a malinois for 13 yrs and LOVED him so much. On our 2nd who's 4 months old. Exercise and work for the dog has been key for us, and consistency. Every person that meets him has to stand up and say no bite every single time he bites even if playful. Always have different toys for them to give them something else to bite. Tennis balls are a huge savior for this dog too. Lastly, we work with him on different commands daily.

This was very helpful. I correct the behavior with a "no", but I was not redirecting. I am going to add the redirection, and praising when he is chewing his toys, and hopefully overtime the biting will subside.

Their may have been some chatter as mentioned above but if you just wait this video was very informative. I have a 8 week Belgian Malinois that's nipping right now and I will be trying these steps. Thanks man great video.
  • Thank you so much I've been struggling a little bit with puppy bitting and I didn't have much direction as far as how to stop it past toy redirection

My little 6 week malinois is like an aligator... But he bites whenever he sees my hand. I spend arround 2 hours a day training him and he still bites me lol
  • Thank you for making this video, the person I got my puppy from is a trainer and told me to smack them with a hat or swatter but I will definitely take your advice
  • I have a 16 week old Dutch / German shephetd who is jumping and biting clothes and jumping for his ball in my hand instead of 'sit and wait.'It happens while I'm trying to play ball & exercise him too. LOL I'm trying to wear him out to reduce evening zoomies. Thank you for this advice. I will continue exercising, even though regular puppy trainers advise against it. I'm getting a new specialized trainer now.

We adopted a feral BM mix puppy and she nips SO much. She doesn't seem to be doing it aggressively. But, she definitely chews on our BMC constantly and I feel bad for her lol

I have 9 weeks Malinois who cannot stop biting anything he can find. Have been practicing the "No" biting verbal warning. Sometimes he obeyed, sometimes he ignores it. What I missed out is to buy him a chewing toy to redirect his biting behaviors plus more time for exercises. Thank you for the video 🙏

Have a new Malinios at home 7 weeks old that is biting a lot. Your advice is helping a bit, I know it takes time. I was interested in the looking at the course you have linked in the description however the links no longer work. Has it changed or went away? Please reshare if there is an updated link! Thanks!

I recieved a high energy dog (1 yr old) who was too agressive for an owner's toddler. Along with a bag of hi-pro food, we now were faced with getting nipped every time we got near him. He was needy and desired us yet couldn't curb the "painful" nip! Twice in a couple months we ran out of the hi-pro food and fed him the old beagle's food "fit n trim" (discontinued) and after the second time of just a few days different food we noticed a huge difference, no biting and calmer demeanor. Around that time I watched a court case about a dog that had defaced a child while standing right behind his owner! The lawyer who cleaned up for the child asked the owner did he ever research that dog's food and the agressive behaviour that comes from hi-protein food? He produced proof and we suddenly understood the change in our dog, food change! no more biting! Happier family and he live an active life another 16 yrs! He had a couple years of bad hip pain which we resolved using "the watercure" formula of 1/4 teaspoon extra sea salt per quart of water just added to his gravy every other day! yeah all Drs benefit from low sodium diets!
