I think the message is not only does social media disconnect us from reality it also has an aspect of putting the 'victim' on a pedestal. The girl in this video stabbed the guy first. But because she was taking selfies of her own stab wound she got worshiped like a God. The news is slanted in that regard, only half of the story is told. On top of social media being an issue.

My 6 yr old son happened to walk in while I was watching this (I didn't realize it would be so graphic). He asked "Daddy, what's this song called" "Good news" I say "This doesn't seem like very good news" He replied.

Social media makes you sacrifice real life for few likes and it disconnects from the real social interaction. It's power is so powerful that for many people it's like religion. Something they have to pray to everyday so they feel a part of something while being nothing, just a bunch of intangible bytes. (?)
