It's taking me 3 years to find this video but I can say this is the best holly tuning guide I have found. And fully explaining the intricate tuning in a simplistic way

Absolutely awesome info for carb tuning!
  • @chevacamaro68
Excellent video! I only have one request. Can you please do an a video explaining how the emulsion holes work. I know what they do but I’ve never had an in depth explanation of the “consequences”when you change something.
  • Your vids are hands down the best for me to learn from. I say ME because might not B everones cup of tea, but it works for me thank you
  • @tadeckel5053
One thing to remember, you add layers or circuits, as you open throttle, but the idle and transfer cuircuits are still in use. Many make mistake of believing they go away and are replaced by power and cruise circuits. The adding a layer analogy alway helped me understand how it all works together.
  • Great video Tyler you know your stuff my man always like your videos I seen your short today with the grocery getter that tack hit 7k as soon as you stabbed it. I'd say you got that truck tuned really good nice job thanks for the video. Your friend from Louisiana Rick 427

  • @toksliir
Thanks for this video, lt probably helps me tuning my new 2 ATM E85 blower carbs. They are custom made for my engine csb 414 whit 6-71 blower, but they are very rich on idle 10.2 AFR continuously, no change when l tuning the mixture screws, and very lean when i driving. Best regards from Sweden
  • @bentoombs
Thanks for the info. Hope to see ya at the sprint boat races.
  • @ari1234.
My holley 670 the red cam plastic piece behind the choke gets stucked . and needs to manually be pushed down.. Going nuts. Nice set up!
  • Many folks also say the transfer slot fuel can be excessive on most of the newer carbs. To help correct / adjust it you can add transfer slot restrictors to the main body where metering block attaches. I tapped mine for .070 -.080 restriction. I can further tune the transfer slot fueling. The blp metering blocks have both locations for the idle feed restrictors. They claim the lower spot is considered a fuel restriction the higher spot is a air bleed. The pull down of fuel on startup on the lower location helps aid starting of vehicle. Some folks also claim it's easier to tune idle the fuel in lower location.

Excellent video! Wondering if you could help, I have a BBF 460 stroked to 532. I have a 728 lift cam and holley 1000cfm carb. Its running way too rich at idle. Would you suggest I get bigger air bleeds for the idle circuit to lean it out? I’ve messed with the idle mixture screws and nothing changes. Or do I need to check my manifold vaccum and most likely change the power valve from what I’ve been reading if the vaccum is too low Edit/ just realized I can’t take intake manifold vaccum as there’s no port. I’ll need to take the manifold off and drill a port.
  • @1967cougar
Hell yeah bro love the detail you give I’m going too go with a 1050 dominator you ever messed with one thoses
  • @fazawah2933
I found your Ford channel doppelganger @ " Project Venture" doing an intake gasket video. Love your stuff but your intake video is gone and found that guy. Cheers.
  • @3rdgenfox
Man where do you get the time to do this ? Lol..anyway cool channel mane !! I had a question. All the vids I check out got me confused on the tranfer slots!! I have a 4150 holley double pump mechanical secondary carb. Moded for blow through. My question is do you set both primary and secondary transfer slots to the square? Or jus the front? Some vids say yes..some say no. Some say dont ever touch the secondarys at all. Anyway you seem to really get down the niddy Griddy of tuning, very knowledgeable frfr. Anyway any knowledge is greatly appreciated!🙂
