This documentary speaks with people from Indigenous tribes across the United States about the importance and the history of the wacipi - or, in English, pow wow. While the documentary moves through the stages of a pow wow, it talks about the history of Native American tribes, the injustice and terror they and their ancestors faced at the hands of the Minnesotan and US Government, and the joy each person feels in honoring their culture and participating in the pow wow.

I love how wheneve a Native begins to tell about a tradition they start with..."what my grandfather/uncle/grandmother told me..." implies the stories being passed from generation to generation according to an elder.

  • In my opinion, Native American Tribes are the most beautiful people in the world. I am white, but I love their ways......I can’t explain it, it’s been in my heart since I was a child. 💜🕊🙏💕✝️✡️🌹🙋‍♀️

Beautiful pagentry of Native life. Everyone is free to express the Creators light and how they carry that light into the world. It is a wonderful affirmation and reality of walking the Beauty Way, and each person is. There exists no equilvant to it that I am aware. It is a celebration where there are no spectators, there are the people. It is about the people and the love of the people to endure, to thrive, to remember the ancestors, their wisdom and teachings so the people will continue to thrive and grow their culture and heritage and make their own contribution to keep their nation strong and great for the generations born and for the many not yet born.

"Before I dive in I want to clarify something: I am a settler and my family comes from a long line of settlers. I’m complexionally-challenged, pale, white, however you want to say it. I’ve never done an ancestry test, but I’ve been told I’m mainly British, Irish and Scottish with a tiny bit of German. My heritage is one of suppression, but I’m here to try and learn about Indigenous Culture

I live in North Africa and I have this Beautifull Painting of a Majestuous Pow Wow Dancer ! I have from my ex father in law that used to be a Dr in southern California of one of the Navajo Indian Reservation. I have heard so many nice stories and he collected so much art . He used to trade his art against the Indian's Art . Love to All of You ❤
