This is the independent feature film Star Trek First Frontier. Feel free to download and save the film. It's impossible to tell if the powers that be are going to allow you to enjoy this, or have it removed. Hopefully, they will see a value in allowing the fans their own creative outlets in the fan films. After all, we chose Star Trek to create, it's a compliment. We were in production before the "guidelines" were announced and understand we have been "grandfathered" in, with that understanding. Please share the link with as many as you can. Please visit the Star Trek First Frontier Facebook page by searching FB for "Star Trek First Frontier".

Extreme special attention to following established Star Trek canon was shown. Our intent was to add to Star Trek, not to change it. It's not ours to change. The film was made in good faith and with adoration for Star Trek.

We did our absolute best to deliver a visual experience worthy of anything bearing the name Star Trek. There are moments in the film where the visual effects may be slightly insufficient but hopefully, never distracting. I tried to eliminate any element that would remove your verisimilitude while watching. I also know of the limitations in audio in some places.

I planned to fix everything before release but the quarantine has us hit hard financially, I did what I could, I just didn't have the funds any more, having paid for the entire film myself.
The issues will be fixed soon for the Director's Edition.

Please forgive any shortcomings.

Please note: This may not appeal to you. If you would like to leave an intelligent comment as to why, please do. I am confident enough to absorb and evaluate criticism.
If you leave a hurtful, disparaging or insulting remark, I will delete it for no other reason than because I have no respect for you. This movie cost you nothing to watch but time and if you are sending me hate for it, you're probably not the type of person who is doing anything useful with that time anyway. Star Trek is about encouraging others and building them up, not taking joy in tearing them down.

For those who dislike stories set in the original series timeline, I would kindly remind you that you have at least three television series at 7 seasons each (21 seasons) set in the future timelines, The Original Series only had 5 Seasons (I count the Animated Series) and the movies. There's room for more stories here.

To those Star Trek fans who have been so incredibly kind, thank you for your encouragement and your love. Your positivity far outweighs the negative . I appreciate you immensely because I am one of you. LLAP - Kenny

Am so glad that a live-action adaptation of the initial voyage of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 under the command of Captain Robert M. April has FINALLY been produced and released! I love it! This recent era has been a very good one for classic, traditional Star Trek! Let's hope that this motion picture can serve as a pilot for an all-new series that centers on the first five-year mission of the USS Enterprise because this is the type of material that Star Trek enthusiasts have been awaiting for over half a century! Here's to FINAL FRONTIER! 🙂 P. S. It was also good to watch the USS Constitution (the first of the Constitution Class starships) in action!
  • It may not have sounded like Star Trek but it felt like Star Trek. It's good to know somebody still gives a damn.
  • @brianjlevine
Most fan films have one of two problems: either the story is weak or it is overloaded with fanboy stuff. This has none of those problems. It left me wanting more. Solid job.

Another lifelong Trekker here, I found your film very enjoyable, the effects were really cleverly done despite limited resources. Thank you for an entertaining tribute inspired by our beloved Star Trek.

Tonight I felt like Star Trek - I remembered watching this a couple years ago and I’m back to watch this fantastic production again - BRAVO 🙌

I'm only 20 minutes into this and love it. Someone commented what these people could do with a CBS budget. Why doesn't CBS stop working so hard to rewrite Trek and hire some of these people that are essentially working for free out of their homes pouring their hearts into these films. You could probably make a series or movie for half as much and be twice as profitable. There's a whole community out there waiting to pay to see real Trek again. Episodes that have depth and not just big action sequences with forgettable characters. Different series that build on each other and grow new characters and stories that are memorable (The Drumhead comes to mind).
  • "you're grown up now, those stars are not so far." Fantastic line! Can't wait to finish, this is what Star Trek should be.

Watching this makes me feel like I was a young boy again. Back to the basics to when expensive Special effects were of no significance. What mattered was that you felt you were really there, right amongst the action. Three cheers for Star Trek, and long may it live.
  • After the recent passing of Nichelle Nichols it's so good to hear her make the opening "Space" narrative and listening to her voice brings back memories of her time with William Shatner and the rest of tge stars on the original "Star Trek" and her narrative just fits with this movie like a glove and I'm really gonna miss her!!!!!!!!!!! Was that her singing there at the beginning? If it WAS then she STILL had that MAGNIFICENT magical singing voice that all her fans are gonna miss!-!!!!!!!! Rest In Peace for a legendary "Star Trek" performer,WONDERFUL Actress and MAGNIFICENT singer with an AWESOME powerful voice!!!!!!!!!! Good night sweet princess of the U.S.S. ENTERPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • "A" for effort. Despite some very obvious production and technical challenges they passionately produced a legitimate Star Trek story.
  • @Incogneato
This is the very definition of a masterpiece of fan-content.
  • Loved it, old school Star Trek brought tears to these 58 year old treki eyes ,WELL DONE. TREKI FOR LIFE,Keep doin what your doin!!❤❤
  • @bluesguitarz
Very much enjoyed this,It was like finding a lost Star Trek episode. Many thanks to everyone involved that made this movie
  • On anniversary of Star Trek going back to the beginning with an untold story of Robert April is quite amazing and i enjoyed it thank you to its creators i hope for more with Cpt April
  • This movie captures the heart of what made Star Trek: The Original Series so good, updating the human mindset 50 years or so, to make a really compelling story. While I get attempting to be true to the original show, The Next Generation really got it right sending the first officer, rather than the captain, into harm's way. It would have been nice to make that correction. The technology, of course, is limited, but that is not nearly as important as getting the screenplay right. Bravo for an unbelievably good job for a FanFiction effort. If nothing else, maybe it will help inspire better future productions. For now, it is just pure joy to watch. Excellent!
  • @tibour007
This is Star Trek the way that it is supposed to be!
  • @TJ_Mc
This is clearly a labor of love. The execution may be limited, but the heart of Star Trek is beating strong. This film is well worth your time.
  • Our STARFLEET International chapter (USS Renaissance, Region 13) got together this evening and watched your film. I wanted to extend a thank you for not only producing this but making it available to everyone to watch, it's clearly a labor of love. It was a great watch, we all enjoyed it and will rewatch it as a group if you make a Directors Cut one day.
