  • Damn, Jim Davis had a magnetic presence, the way he walked, all the gold jewelry he wore, amd the snappy clothes, he was one of a kind.
  • @HR-rl4ke
Jim Davis had so much presence no one could be Jock but him!!!
  • Jock had great eyes. Oscillates between toughness and compassion.
  • Jim Davis was outstanding as Jock. The final scene of "The Search" when JR is looking at the skies while holding Jock's lion medallion and it ends with tears in Larry Hagman's eyes, shows just how much Jim Davis was loved. Argue with me if you want, Dallas was never the same after Jim Davis' passing. Rest in Peace, Sir, along with Miss Ellie and JR.
  • A veteran film actor, Jim hit the jackpot in TV's money peak in this late 70's prime time soap opera. RIP Jim.

I love the musical scores used during this season. They really helped set the tone of each scene.
  • Jim Davis dying was a great shock and sad event. He was the anchor of the family. He's been in lots of westerns and was a good actor. Rest In Peace Mr. Davis You are missed.
  • The guy who played Amos Krebbs was some great casting. It's like I could smell the smarmy wafting off of him. And Jim looks like absolute perfection. The fine suit, the commanding presence, the jewelry, and those piercing blue eyes. He reminded me a little of my own grandfather in this scene.

I don’t think many people got the upper hand on ol’ Jock Ewing like Krebbs did in this scene. Jim Davis was a brilliant actor. You saw the Ewing patriarch’s balance and confidence slip away as soon as he discovered Ray was his son. Not with words but just in his face. A great scene.

I loved Jim Davis .. Jock was such a great character ...

Jock was 10x more a father to Ray than Amos ever was before it was known.
  • That's William Windom playing Amos Krebs.  A very distinguished character actor.  He was memorable as Commodore Decker in the classic Star Trek episode "The Doomsday Machine".
  • This is classic "Dallas".  Jim Davis was terrific as Jock Ewing.  It would have been great to see Jock and Ray build a long-term father-son relationship.  RIP Jim Davis.
  • Jock was a man's man Dallas was great with jock. when jim Davis passed it lost a little something.
  • Best thing every happened to Ray was finding out Jock was his father. I'm sorry Dallas died with Jim Davis died.
  • Making Morgan Woodward Jock’s friend was a brilliant move. It’s a shame they had such a short time together. But his presence after Jock/Jim died provided a bit of that Jock-ness.
  • william Windom was a great actor could do anything from star trek to mamas family to dallas
