Wait...Matt Groening confirmed this? Well then, THEORY CONFIRMED! (2 years ago apparently...but now we've done it with EVIDENCE!)
  • @PlutozzYT
This was SEVEN YEARS ago! I remember getting on YouTube and seeing “ Film Theory Uploaded - We found Springfield “ 4 minutes ago and yet now it was 7 years ago wow how time flies
  • "Mat, why don't you have a bed in your room?" Mat: "I did, but I never used it. So I gave it to Steph."

There's a place in Oregon called Springfield, There's a building there that has the Simpsons on it and it says "Home of the Simpsons"
  • You know your show is legendary when they put actual impressions of the characters in the dictionary like "D'oh".
  • @carsiccl
5:52 "We're down to our final 9" Aw man. I thought I'd forget about the news.
  • @Thatbendyfan_
Decided to revisit a few old theories I watched back in elementary school, and I really don’t regret it
  • @tuesdaybandy63
Fun fact: Oregon doesn’t have sales tax so when you see a price tag, it’s the actual price and you don’t need any more money than what the price says. It’s great.
  • Damn, Bart drove quite a distance to Knoxville if Springfield is in Oregon...
  • @silygoose5334
I’m from a town called chelmsford in Massachusetts, and a few of the original animators on the show were from here and they actually based multiple buildings off places in my home town. So that pretty cool
  • Just want to mention that there’s an episode where Hank Hill from “King of the Hill” goes to Springfield and says “We drove 2000 miles for this?!?” If you measure the distance between Springfield, Oregon and Dallas, Texas (the Area where Arlen is supposedly be near), it is 2030 miles, almost the exact same distance Hank claims to have traveled.
  • @CarterInosencio
Can you do an explanation as to why Bart and Lisa’s hair is just a continuation of their skin?
  • @hangngo168
This is also true because in S6E24 Lemon of Troy Bart’s grandfather talks about how the settlers of Springfield stopped at the end of the Oregon trail
  • This was the first video that ever got me into matpat, the rest is history I'd never give up for the world.
  • Anyone in 2024 [Edit] Ummmm I HAVE 60 LIKE THIS IS MORE POPUALER THEN MY VIDEOS
  • @chillgamer6910
I don’t think homer would even know that the state he is in existed
  • @Gamer-GuyGG64
Not gonna lie, it's kinda sad we can't consider homer a "Florida man"
  • @jakefran3919
Coming back years later this episode is still amazing
  • @C.Ross_Faded
I always thought it was in Illinois for some reason 😂😂 but yeah, I literally should’ve googled Gronening’s home state. Every single writer puts a little of themselves in their work, that’s what breathes life into it (I’m a writer myself). This is much sweeter though so cute and wholesome
