I also have a lovely wooden box that folds out with a handle on top. I used to try to keep useful things in it, before I realised it was futile cause I couldn't open it on a table without moving things out of the way (and my table is always in chaos). Now it's my button box and buttons are an ~occasion~ anyway

Also: Labels!! In my studio I write them on cute washi tape even though my partner owns a label maker, cause I can colour code and they look nicer imo. On fabric boxes i just fold a piece of card so that it hangs over the edge and write on that
