One of the last living relics from the mobster era of Las Vegas offers direct access to his stories and experiences through a secret dinner series. This is Oscar Goodman, former Las Vegas Mayor, attorney to the mafia, and a star who played himself in the movie casino. About every two months he’ll host an unadvertised dinner for friends and fans to listen to him share stories from the golden era of Las Vegas. Its a rare and unique experience you’ll only find at The Plaza Downtown, on the Fremont Street Experience, inside Oscar’s Steakhouse. #vegas #lasvegas #vegasstarfish #oscargoodman #oscarssteakhouse #plazalasvegas #downtownlasvegas #fremontstreetexperience #mobster #lasvegasmafia #vegashistory #thingstodoinvegas #wheretoeatinvegas #creatorsearchinsights #vegaslocal #vegaslocals #vegasexperience

helping to legitimize the mafia by glorifying them is one of the weirdest things that Americans do as an American. just because they are more organized doesn't mean that they didn't frequently pray on the innocent. And call me lame but I just don't think that's very cool.

I worked on both of Oscars mayoral campaigns and believe me, he is a hoot. I learned a lot about not only howcampaigns work, but also how his mind works. I attended lots of events and absolutely love the Goidmans to pieces.

Whether you like it or not, the Mafia is part of Vegas Culture & History. The Mob Museum is fascinating and worth visiting. Its not different than glorifying the confederacy war criminals

Lady says “Star” of the movie Casino. He was basically an extra in the film! The baseball bats were bigger stars of the film.
  • I guess people pay for dinner with politicians and that’s worse.
  • Some stories are left untold which makes Old Las Vegas and the Mafia legendary stories….❤ and those were the good times.
  • I would legit love to do this. Like you can tell he has the BEST stories and advice to give

Wow Oscars getting up there in age. Good to see that he’s still as sharp as ever

I've always been fascinated with Las Vegans' comfort level with their mobsters; it's like when western desperados were heroes to the frontier public. Frank Rosenthal was popular and had a hit TV show. You go to Southpoint and you can see a heroic statue of Benny Binion and his horse Nig- um his "black gelding". He was Vegas' kindly uncle who happened to be a murderer and a mobster. I guess it's because they built Vegas.

I've dined there several times and enjoyed each meal. Without the mayor.

If I go I want answers to Steve Wynn's being a front man for the mob. If I don't get answers I'm not ordering the souffle !
