This version of DIO is actually kind of terrifying. The fact that he's so calm, his effortlessness, the more casual style of talking, it all makes him unironically menacing.

This OVA looks incredible, also fun fact, in the English Dub the Senator is voiced by Charles Martinet who is the voice of Mario. So yes, in the english dub Dio forces Mario to commit vechicular homicide, turning JoJo into Mario Kart.

I fucking love the way senator philips is seemingly warped back into his car. It's so clever, and if you don't already know what Dio's power is it feels so menacing and mysterious.

Much as I love the original flamboyant, over the top, memetastic Jojo, I wouldn't mind if someone took another stab at a more horror orientated interpretation of the series like the original OVAs did.

I love the fact that DIO has to quickly get out of the car, move the senator and get back in the car with the cool pose before time starts again a couple of times. Same situation as Polnareff on the stairs.

Normally I dislike politicians, but good god, I actually feel bad for Senator Philips here. Dio literally drove the poor guy insane in a matter of minutes.

The OVA has some really cool and creative shots.

I like how the town is realistically depicted lively and full of people while in the anime it's always conveniently empty like a graveyard.

This version of Dio didn't have the amazing voice actor, but this depiction makes him much more menacing. He used the world three times just to torture some old politician. Hierophant green looks way better too. While the OVA didn't feel much like the source material (which the David production anime translated really well into animation) it still looked incredible.

I really love how the OVA portrays the Emerald Splash, here it actually looks like the Senator's car is being shot at by a machine gun, the DP anime adaptation makes it look less dangerous.
