One thing I’m not sure the American fans realise is how good a rugby player and how good a career he has walked away from. He wasn’t just a pro rugby player. He was one of the brightest talents in world rugby. I hope he gets a chance. He obviously has a lot to learn, but unlike most rookies, he completely understands pro sport… the dedication, training, mindset, pressure… etc.
  • What an inspiration this young man is. He is the definition of chasing your dreams. I'm backing him to succeed... Much respect from South Africa.

How well does he come across. So mature and well spoken for his age with the interest of the whole country watching his progress.

This guy is impressive. He knows he’s new to the sport but while respecting the challenge he is also aware of his natural ability. I really hope he succeeds.

As a South African rugby fan its a pity he has left rugby but I do hope the bloke makes it in the NFL.

The American press is going to LOVE this guy! Hope we see a lot of LRZ!

I really hope he makes the team and gets some time on the field, I've only been following American football the last 3ish years but I'm a massive rugby fan.

Great interview. Great responses from Louis. Very natural and charming. Good luck Louis from back here in Wales. Watching your journey with interest and rooting for you. I hope you can contribute and be a great asset to The Chiefs.

As a Welshman I was gutted when he first announced he was leaving rugby, definitely a little angry too. Now that a little time has passed I couldn't wish him more luck for he future, make Wales known in the NFL!!

wishing him all the best from the UK, go and be special

For anyone who hasn't watched it I would highly recommend going and watching the international player pathway videos. They follow LRZ through the camp all the way up until he is signed with the Chiefs it's pretty amazing.

If he can crack the game, he has the charm, intelligence and looks to be very marketable. I'm sure all Louis is thinking about is the on-field aspect. Good luck to him. He was a very good rugby player. You have to be to play for the British and Irish Lions.

I really like this guy 😎 can’t wait to watch him play!! He’s got a positive attitude and he’s mentally sharp! He should do well!!

The US pundits are very confused with how the Chiefs are handling LRZ. They couldn't envisage him making the grade but he seems to have defied expectations, and coaches are very impressed. This has lead to the Chiefs not going after more wide receivers and other offensive players that they were expected to go for. Rookie mini camp seems to have opened some disbelieving eyes.

Welcome Louis, I’ll be rooting for you to meld into a new style star!!

As a guy from the UK former rugby player I really hope he excels in the league. As a Raiders fan who has seen him play, I’m scared
