Mick Gordon On Killer Instinct Seasons 1 and 2 - Composing Instinct (Full Documentary)

Thank you for capturing the history of Killer Instinct music through this excellent documentary. It was literally a dream come true to be a part of a project this big!

I had no idea that Ali Edwards, the now legendary singer in DMC 5 for Devil Trigger and her husband were directly involved with Mick Gordon on Killer Instinct. It's crazy how connected the best music in the industry is.

I was part of that PAX choir for Thunder's theme! So technically, I'm part of the KI soundtrack.

I can listen to Mick talk about music production in games for hours.

"This werewolf is ripping the orchestra apart." Holy hell that is the perfect description of that theme. No wonder it's my favorite--Mick had such a clear vision of how it should sound.

TJ combo trailer was an absolute "alignment of the stars" miracle, a one in a lifetime event. Max comments on his videos they were working on his moves days before his trailer came out and he barely had weeks of work and they got something kind of functional to show. And the knowing now his music was a last minute crunch makes it even more epic

This is such a rad doc. Thanks so much for pouring your passion into this! I'll be watching this every 5-10 years of my life looking back on what an incredible time we all had. \m/ \m/

It's actually incredibly mind-blowing how much work was put into every aspect of this game. Even years on, it is still being talked about and I'm discovering more about what passion was poured into it. As KI is one of my favourite games of all time, I'm proud.

My favorite track? Hands down, it's Herald of Gargos. It's got one of my best friends doing the vocals. Here's the full story, I was taking my morning poop, reading through Twitter when I saw Mick's tweet. I thought of two people, Chris and the vocalist for my band. Told Chris first, pushed him to do it because he loved the game so much. He had ZERO confidence that he'd get the gig. I'm glad he got it, what Mick said about him looking like he's never said a cuss word in his life isn't exactly true, but Chris is genuinely one of the most caring and nicest dudes that walks this planet. .

"I want to represent. I wanted to do the best I could" that's. An understatement. Still listening to TJ's theme all the time and still loving it

This is exactly the kind of detail i want to hear from any "big production" music producer. I'd like to see something like this from producers like Swizz Beats or Dr. Dre and of course other game music Producers like Michiru Yamane, Inon Zur, Hans Zimmer, Nobuo Uematsu, Koji Kondo etc

When I heard the flute by itself in Thunder’s theme, I instantly got chills, and tears in my eyes. What did you do to me, Mick?! Lol Edit: I was listening to the Temperance & Vengeance portion and look up to see my 6 year old daughter dancing lol. So awesome!

Hinamatoom should be in musical Hall of Fame, its so powerful sounding that its simply a treasure

When Mick Gordon said the reason for 2 versions of Maya's theme was because he lost the original session (56:56), I felt that! Top 10 Producer Heartbreaks

46:39 this is beautiful. It's like a microcosm of TJ Combo's story - looking at his own cybernetics and deciding It's not working, it's not worth it. He's running out of time, he's past his prime, but he needs to make a difficult decision. And so he "throws it all out and tries again", he rips out his cybernetics to get one more authentic attempt. That crazy gamble worked for him, and it worked for Mick and Omega too
