My current DJ setup:

Gator Cases GRR-10L - Rolling rack case
Furman M 8-X Power distribution
Vocopro UHF-5805 - WIreless mics
Pyle PDWM3450 - Wireless mics with XLR transmitters
Ebtech HE-8 - 8 channel hum eliminator
Knockoff Shure 55SH - Elvis microphone
ART 418 - 8 channel mono mixer. Used for mixing mics
Cortex MIX-R1U - my favorite mixer. 1u in size
BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer - cleans up the sound
Peavey PV-1500. The amplifier

I also use have three Peavey PR12 speakers. The reason I have three is because I thought one was about to die on me.

    buys a hum eliminator - you could do the exact same thing by cutting the connection the ground pin the in the XLR connectors (balanced audio dose not need the ground connection to work) OR having a power conditioner and separating out dirty power (lights and vision) and clean power (sound). Your problem is caused by ground loops or by dirty power getting into your pre-amps and amplifiers. Solve the problem at the source rather than ghetto solving it. Typically you run lighting off a second computer (one task to one computer) - it dose not have to be powerful - software like MagicQ will run on a very low end windows XP computer.

    I use peavy pr15 speakers(and many more) and there bassy as hell but sound really good and go pretty loud, but good vid, I'm hoping to do my own setup video within the nxt couple days, but as far as lights go I recommend a moonflower light first, there bright, and give of a great effect and you can pick one up of eBay brand new for no more than $150

    awsome setup , im a crown amp user myself they are tough and robust for my medium to large setup i have Martin Audio WT2 top cabs and Martin Audio WS218x running Crown XTI amps with XTA processing, for Small setup i run Bose 802s with Bose 502b subs Bose B1500 with the bose controller

    Honestly for any Mobile DJ now a days invest in a DBX DriveRack PA2 speaker management system 5 different units in 1. Best investment I've ever made. Has a Sonic Maximizer, Crossover, Limiter, Mic filter, 28 band EQ, Compressor and a few other things check it out.

  • Hello, I'm a mobile DJ and humbly need your advice on this. I DJ most at weddings. Please I really want to improve on my sound output. I have a single Sub-woofer, two double speakers and two single speakers too. I just want ask if is necessary or helpful for me to buy a crossover and a graphic equalizer?? Hope to here from you soon.
