This interview was very insightful if you listen closely. Sharp’s frustration with Kelpy is comparable to military personnel feeling disrespected and infuriated with people who lie and say they served or about the details of their service, known as “stolen valor”. There are many possible reasons why Sharp was frustrated, but in my opinion, the top reasons were: 1) Kelpy chose this “life” despite opportunities to pursue a different path, 2) The game isn’t as glamorous or terrible depending on what aspect your referring to like it’s portrayed in popular culture , and Kelpy has not experienced the ups and downs (trauma, PTSD, etc) that Sharp has experienced — so it comes off as disrespectful and insensitive and 3) maybe most importantly, Kelpy was unfortunately or fortunately the punching bag for what he in Sharp eye’s represents, which is a perpetrator. At several points in this interview, Kelpy displayed a lack of knowledge, humility, respect for Sharp’s profession. I’ve seen people mask lack of knowledge with humility while others mask it with arrogance — in this interview he masked his lack of knowledge of game with arrogance. Key takeaway: Kelpy learned what could have been a hard lesson the easy way. Sharp’s delivery is unique, but his message is precise and accurate.
