I agree with you on the Knex vs LEGO topic. I feel like there are way more opportunities with building, but that price is really good on the Knex set.
  • Knex has always done amazing Roller Coaster sets, I like Lego too ... But in all Honesty Lego has some pretty ballsy prices, $90 for a coaster set ... Nah I'm good.

Knex has always done roller coasters well. I don't like to free build with them as much, but some of their sets are very fun. I love any building toy, but lego is king.
  • This is why that knex is always been my childhood and what makes it awesome is that they have there owned vr app and that what makes it awsome when you can ride on the knex rollorcoaster and thats why i love knex

From what you've showed, I feel like Knex puts more emphasis on motion and affordability then look; Lego, on the other side, offers plenty of room for customization, hence the hefty price.

I have both Lego Rollercoasters you talked about. I love them both, but since I grew up in the 80's I might have to get the PAC man set. It's really cool and that price is awesome.

love both but lego i cant afford, and with knex i think you get a better bng for your buck, and they both hold a very special place in my heart

I always liked knex when I was younger. Since you could build machines and weapons. With the original block Legos, those types of builds were next to impossible. But when Lego technic came out, I bought a bunch of sets for my son and realized the options with technic Legos are limitless, and kinda left knex in the dust. They’re both great building platforms, it just depends on what you want to build

When I bought it it was $5

I use to be obsessed with Knex and the displays were always amazing cause they functioned. That said I think Knex might be falling on hard times and needs to move product.
  • Both sets are great in their own right and in their own way K'Nex is far more affordable
  • With knex, you can do anything that lego can, its just harder. you can also do bigger stuff with knex. check out some of the knex ball machines.

i like K'nex more than lego because it give a lot more freedom in your builds.
  • I grew up with Meccano erector sets and Knex is similar in comparison. Legos downside is that it is too heavily themed. The parts are more customized for the individual projects they are sold for. Knex have cardboard cutouts for theming and less than a half dozen themed plastic pieces, but most of the parts are general stock. For combining sets into bigger projects, Knex takes the lead. Legos have a more solid feel and Knex feels flimsy in comparison, but the structure weight to size ratio make Knex more manageable. Note that Knex has now made some lego compatible blocks that allow Knex and lego integration.

I long time ago I got a Knex rollercoaster, and it look like so much fun, but I could never build it because it was to hard for me at the time. A while later I finished building it and it was really cool and awesome!

And knex rods are completely compatible with Lego technic bricks so you can use lego technic and classic lego and knex together to make something even bigger and better
