  • Picked up a GR Corolla a couple weeks ago. At 73, ya don't have to stop living.

I’m just so glad that car and driver continues to be a reference calibre source of information. The history needs to be maintained, and despite all of the competition, their testing at VIR combined their thoroughly driver oriented 10 best year after year, continues to be an irreplaceable resource for me. Thank you Carlos (and Csaba, you legend) and to the rest of the team. You’re all part of the legend.
  • This video is as good as the article. The only issue I take is that the majority of these vehicles are actually NOT available at your local dealership nor will they be because they won't take order. And if you're lucky enough to get the call you'll pay significantly over MSRP. Which begs the question, should this award go to limited edition models? If you don't agree or believe me, try to buy 5 of the 10 cars listed, you pick which 5. Let me know what happens.

I have a Cayman and it certainly isn't short on storage space - a trunk and a frunk has more than enough space for 2 people on a long road trip. Part of the secret is to use soft bags to pack your stuff in.

I took a short test drive in an i4 Spring '22 and thought it was terrific. I'm a lifelong Bimmer guy and am very pleased C&D likes it. I really didn't put it through its paces. Alas, that nutty grill and 2 pedals will keep it out of my garage in the foreseeable future. Kudos to GM for having more than one car in the list!!
  • BMW m340 should be on the list over the i4 right now. Ridiculously great balance of luxury, raw performance, and value for what it provides at its price point. Best all around priced “performance car”
  • Car and Driver continues to get confused by the BMW window stickers. Re the i4: The curved display with iDrive 8 is standard, not optional. The option you're referring to, "Curved Display with Head Up Display", is JUST adding the HUD. Nothing more.

You can't really walk into any Cadillac dealership and buy a CT5-V Blackwing 6spd. It's a little more difficult than that...
  • @Spinks345
Carlos - wonderful writing, prose and delivery. Keep it up.
  • @YEETYfrmXBOX
I could listen to this guy all day. Rented a cayman for Christmas, and im pretty confident that it was the greatest driving experience you could wish to have.
  • GM, Honda and Toyota are doing very well. Surprised not to see the Elantra N.
  • @RGBRacing
They should redo this but include the avg dealer markup into the price. Good luck finding a ZO6 for under 110k lol
  • @JBsC6
Great show. Great list of ten best Carlos Lago,!
  • Why didn't the Mazda Miata (MX-5) make it on your list? Soft top or the RF. What a great car. It has been on there every year, since last year and this year.
  • 3 GM, 2 Honda, 1 Toyota, 1 Toyota/Subaru hybrid, 1 Toyota/BMW hybrid, 1 BMW and 1 Porsche. Never thought I would see a Top 10 with GM taking 3 spots! Especially since this list doesn't include any SUVs.
  • @AJ-kineticU
Hmmm 2 out of ten in the stable albeit prior year variants. Wish I could try the Corolla…never thought that I would say that of a Corolla 😂

I’m glad these guys did a proper video on top 10. They are the superior motoring journalists in the US and I hope they do more pivots to video (which is where it’s at) content
