Lincoln City came out on top in a goal extravaganza against Tranmere Rovers.

With neither side concentrating on defence, the goals flowed freely at both ends and the crowd will have gone home happy at the entertainment provided.

Midfielder Samy Kehli got Lincoln City off to a flyer by scoring a powerful effort from 27 yards on 4 minutes. Striker Cole Stockton then equalised for Tranmere Rovers in the 11th minute with an effort from 28 yards which was deflected on its way in.

An error from Lincoln City's Jason Brown allowed veteran midfielder Andy Robinson to score a close range finish which was timed impeccably. Midfielder Michael Tidser then equalised for Lincoln City in the 27th minute with a free kick from the edge of the area.

Striker Wesley Thomas then put Lincoln City in front after 58 minutes with a fine header from point-blank range. Tidser added his 2nd goal of the game with an accurate finish on 60 minutes.

Saurer then increased Lincoln City's advantage further with a deftly executed finish from 26 yards on 63 minutes. McDonald added another goal for Lincoln City with a well timed close range finish on 74 minutes.

The veteran midfielder managed to pull one back for Tranmere Rovers after 78 minutes with a real poacher's effort from 11 yards but it was to be nothing more than a consolation. McDonald added his 2nd goal of the game with a well timed close range finish on 80 minutes.

An error from Tranmere Rovers' Zoumana Bakayogo allowed Thomas to score a deftly executed finish.
