The technology is insane. You can tell there’s a lot of tricks to produce these. You can tell he has done these sales pitches to executives, he has the right words to dance around details of techniques but explain the technology.

I was so confused about how this worked and had to look it up! It's way cooler than I thought! It is an inkjet printer with 2 print heads. One is a normal printer head that does cmyk, plus white and clear. The other is a water soluble support ink print head. It prints a layer, then flash cures with UV light. Next layer just prints on top of the previous, and then flash cure, and repeat. Once done, you soak the print in water... And thats it! No support bumps because there are no tear-away supports. No layer lines or pixel shifts because there is no lcd grid, it's as sharp as a professional 1200dpi traditional print... Because that is exactly what it is! Wild! I assume that the "post production" work they are doing with the color swatches is just painting or filling with the uncured resin/ink, and then curing? Sounds easier said than done lol. But amazing results! Now... If only I had $45k laying around to buy one of those printers hahahaha

Astounding! I have spent years in 3d animation, 2d digital printing, matching color and textures in paints and inks and know the problem with matching colors in different mediums. I am impressed.

I absolutely love how 3D Printing Nerd just finds people and interviews them if they are even slightly related to 3D printing. Its so cool to see behind the scenes stuff like this.

I do coating formulation and colors are a BEAR. There are SO many variables and the fact they nail it and have a repeatable process is outstanding!

The tech is mindblowing. I really did have to pick my jaw off the floor with I saw that skull, I would not believe you could do such magic with 3d printing. So awesome!!!

We used a polyjet 3d printer at uni a few years back and I couldn’t believe that it was a 3d print. Not only did we print something transparent but the detail was unbelievable
