The fishing and boat expedition was a plus. The ocean in that part of the world holds many wonders.

You can't use the smoker to dry your seaweed...unless you leave it in longtime. You can however dry in the Urt near the stove when it is burning to dry the inside from getting moldy. Hang them up they will dry better and then you can powder them. The smoker is best if you have most of the racks filled with the fish for storage in winter months (you are given an allowance daily use it). Don't forget you need to forage for winter for your mushrooms and dry them after you have cleaned them next to the wood burning stove. You can also dry most of your veggies or can them for when you can't grow food in the winter. Your long winter months demand lots of wood for all fires (pizza oven, smoker, and inside wood stove for heat and cooking).

Kudos for making Spätzle the traditional way! Not a big sauerkraut fan so I prefer käsespätzle or kasspatzln depending on where you're from. 😉😉

I’m glad you guys are enjoying the island! It is a beautiful place. That’s why I love living here. I will share some info with you though: currently there is fire bands (outdoors) of any kind. You might want to check the local community page for updates. If there is restrictions in your area. If caught burning a fire (they fly overhead) can result in a biiiiig fine. The put bands on each summer due to the thousands of fires that burn each year and are devastating to communities homes and wildlife. Burn with caution obviously. Great job with all the cooking. Looks tasty.

Interesting what you guys come up with. Food looked good! Nicile used the racks in the yurt by the fireplace and dryed alot of things Try that!❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 give you lots of thumbs up. I know it helps

Ya, let's try it. Love it. Seaweed is best dried in a drying rack or open weave basket kept near the wood stove. It will take two or three days, a slow go is best.
