High blood pressure is a major global health challenge and one of the main reasons why it has become more prevalent is because increasingly more economically developing countries are adopting the western lifestyle which leads to sedentary behaviour, physical inactivity, consumption of calorie dense fatty foods, high sodium intake and excessive levels of stress.

It is also well recognised that excessively elevated blood pressure numbers can be associated with harm to the body at a microscopic level initially and then over a course of years that damage can start manifesting as strokes, heart attacks and kidney failure and therefore there is great emphasis by healthcare bodies around the world to reduce high blood pressure numbers through lifestyle and medications.

I am 53 years old and one year ago I was taking two blood pressure medications. I followed your advice and that of my personal physician and I am now completely medication free. Thank you sir!

  • I'm 36 is my constant pressure is 200 I've started making small changes and i will overcome this 🙏❤️ anyone reading this will be healed ❤️🙏😊
  • When an allopathic doctor treats you for a disease without medicines he is a true doctor. He sees medicines as not the only tool in his armor to cure people. The only doctor who seems to understand what high blood pressure is for the general population. Good job Dr Sanjay Gupta.

My blood pressure was creeping up so I lost weight, changed my diet, exercised more and reduced stress. This has led to a big reduction.

Thankyou for this. I started subscribing to.you in January. I had high BP due to anemia. I started exercising everyday and have now reached seven miles a day. I've lost 21pounds in weight and I feel so much better. My mind is clear and I have more energy. I sleep better and I also meditate. I stopped drinks coz I'm on lots of meds. I'm.very grateful to you. My BP has gone from 155/100 to 110/85, doctor is amazed. Oh and I walk my dog twice a day as well If I.hadn't seen your videos I wouldn't have done anything coz I don't have a good relationship with my doctor. I.trust you. It makes all the difference. Hope you have a nice meal this evening xx
  • I love your videos, I am 90yrs old and have learned more about my body from you than I imagined possible at this stage of life. Thank you 🙏

The big pharma companies must detest you Doctor G!!!! I have reversed so much that ailed me by diet and lifestyle changes including BP, triglyceride levels and gall stones. We need more doctors like you Sir. Thank you for what you do. 😇🙏
  • 3 months of a low carbohydrate diet and a daily 1 hour walk resulted on a waist reduction of 3 inches and reduced my blood pressure from 145/90 to 110/72. Also reversed high triglyceride level to way below normal. I cannot believe the difference after 30 years of medication making no difference.

What I LOVE about your channel is the fact that you never try to SELL ANYTHING. You're just providing information...and great information at that. Plus, you do so KINDLY, and with genuine respect to your viewers. For all of that, I thank you.
  • I love how you don’t want to throw meds at everything and get to the root of the problem by diet and exercise.

THANK YOU, Doc ! I never had a talk like this from any of the doctors I have had in my 76 years of life !

My GP must be one of the minority. He says medication is just a crutch, that long term improvements are found through our own efforts, improved diet, regular exercise and weight loss.

Dr Gupta, you will never know how much good that you do throughout the whole world.
  • You speak beautiful English, and don’t rush the explanations, that’s why people love your videos. You must be a very busy doctor and we appreciate your time spent talking to us. Your care and kindness comes over, and you are not asking for money for expensive pills. Plain common sense good advice, which is tried and trusted is always the best. I aim to get started today on some modifications to my lifestyle!

After five years of bp medication I get to stop with them! I first went vegan.. lost 40 pounds. Then I quit smoking… then I started exercising. Five years now vegan .two years no smoking . Two years of exercising daily. And I’m 59 !!! Now my bp is anywhere from 97/67 to 135/77 . All in normal ranges! As long as I’m staying consistently staying 140 or below I good!!!

What a positive attitude you have! I have recently begun walking every morning to lose "pandemic" weight and lower my blood pressure. I'm 75 years old and am now walking ~2 miles a day (50 min) -- I started at 1.2 miles. I'm working on picking up my speed. Your video was very encouraging!

Excellent presentation for layman on how to lower blood pressure .Less salt, less weight, more potassium, magnesium, exercise program. Thank your sincere concern.
  • Everything that this soft spoken doctor said is correct and stuff I was taught by my ma. But sometimes life gets in the way, I am trying, but what I found is that dropping the weight along with walking and additional K makes a huge difference. I truly enjoy his vlogs. Thank you Sir.
  • As always your talks keep me focussed. I am 73 yrs and find the most difficult aspect is to change lifestyle but if one makes a conscious effort one can succeed. I have stopped intake of sugars and exercise regularly and am reaping the benefits. Please continue to inspire us
