On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

My friend and I got a good laugh out of that first kill where you just stopped the video on a ding and there's the 9X.

The wife isn't as big of a GS fan as me. She walks around the house saying "Altitude, Altitude" or "Pull up, Pull up." That's about all she knows about DCS.
  • @mosshark
As a kid, I always wondered if a missile would get "mad" if it missed on the first pass and come back around and give chase. Many years later, this video answers my question.

The merge is clearly the most important factor in how these fights go. Every time you didn't stick close and maneuver with your bandit as well as you could, it created too much separation. Every time you won, you read and reacted to his movement much better.

The F-16 may be old, but the Hornet design goes back to the YF-17 that competed with it in the lightweight fighter program. Granted, the YF-17 seems to be the first production-intended fighter that optimized intentionally for instantaneous turn rate, but the F-18 was there at the beginning, even if it was retooled for naval squadrons and refined to introduce later.

It is neat to see that DCS models G-loc even after you are hit. Shows situations that a pilot might not eject not due to blackout and not instant death
  • Would love a series of advanced dogfighting tutorials/walkthroughs. I mean beyond explaining concepts of 1c and 2c, but like lift vector placement, how to advantageously manipulate an offset 2 circle, etc etc. Love the channel, each video is genuinely thrilling and very entertaining:)
  • @shadez7650
LOL... I knew it was coming as soon as he said "there is a little too much seperation, I don't love it". 😅😅😅
  • @Ifoughtpiranhas
A great video for GS to drop on my birthday, however the enemy Port-A-Potty factory remains in production, which is an existential threat to the free world!
  • @walpolescrew
Last kill was so quick, it was the whole highlight reel.
  • @horusfalcon
Well, that first one was over in a hurry... 😆 This scenario demonstrates the value of the AIM-9X. It is still a very useful part of an aircraft's overall weapons load, and can still deal death to any adversary that takes it for granted.
  • @granthollins7
Thank you, that was entertaining. Illustrates just how unforgiving the modern dogfight is.
  • @truthseeker9454
I saw this video drop, clicked "Like," and watched the first minute as GS introduced this scenario. Then I watched in horror as his life flashed before his eyes at 1:01. :face-blue-wide-eyes::face-turquoise-covering-eyes::face-blue-smiling: Well, brother, no one can say you don't get qualified pilots to fly OpFor in your videos! Thanks again for letting us fly duel with you on your digital adventures!! Edit: I watched that first fight again and had to come back to say that 9X was dirty man, looping around to hit you in the face like that!
  • @ColeDedhand
The takeaway is that you don't want to get in a knife fight in a phone booth. Or a hobs missile fight.
  • @callenvlogs5989
The aim9 in the first shot was so close you could mistake it for a copilot😅
