  • My understanding is that RetroArch allows users to play/access games from a personal server if you direct it towards one locally which should mitigate any issue of losing save files (since this would mean save data would be sent to your server instead of your local Apple TV). I’m attempting this now so hopefully this works out.
  • It's great to download the shaders straight from the core updater, I use one called "crt-caligari" found in the CRT folder, it's perfect but only when integer scaling is selected.

hello bo, do you have a zip file of all of these roms by any chance? i’m setting this up for my dad that had most of these consoles and games
  • I have a Nintendo Switch controller (enhanced - not the pro). I went through the steps up until connecting/pairing the controller with my Apple TV via Bluetooth (which states that it is “connected”) but when I press the “B” button on the controller (or any other button on the entire controller), it does nothing - it doesn’t leave the screen on the tv (as yours did when you pressed the “B” button) and doesn’t allow me to go out of the Bluetooth screen at all (I have to go back to the Apple TV remote). The controller lights are still flashing so it’s still connected, but still can’t use the controller - even when I go to my games in RetroArch. Do I need to be registering or pairing or connecting my controller through another device/app before pairing through the Apple TV?

Everytime I try playing any rom on my Apple TV in Retroarch, the game immediately crashes

It works super well, but unfortunately it won’t last. Apple allows only 500 kb of persistent storage per app on Apple TV. This means all settings, roms, saves, etc get wiped after a few days, randomly. It also gets wiped when a new update gets pushed to the Apple TV. Until Apple changes this, RetroArch is basically unplayable for longterm use. 🤦🏻‍♂️😩
