Demon's Crest (in Japanese is Demon's Blazon Makaimura Monsho hen) is a game of Super Nintendo, released in 1994, developed and produced by Capcom. The game is a platform genre, but has strong RPG elements. Demon's Crest is part of the series: Gargoyle's Quest and Ghosts'n Goblins.

The game tells the story of a civil war in the kingdom of demons, this war was caused by the mysterious appearance of crests in the realm of demons, if the crests are gathered the bearer of them earn unlimited powers. Then the demon Firebrand (Red Arremer in Japan) known character of the series Gargoyle's Quest (a spin-off of another famous series: Ghosts' n Goblins), win the civil war and conquer five of the six crests. The last was with a dragon, Firebrand can beat him up, but leaves the fight badly injured and ends up being stolen by another demon called Phalanx, leaving Firebrand only with one piece of Fire Crest. This is where the game starts you in control of Firebrand hunting the other amulets and other parts of the crest of fire.
The game have many influences of Mega Man and Castlevania in your gameplay and soundtrack. Each crest gives different powers to our demon Firebrand. This run is 100%, includes all items, the best ending and the cruel struggle with Dark Demon. -

The art, the game play, the music; this game is a true masterpiece. A tragically underrated game. The music alone makes it a great. Dark, atmospheric, melancholy, and blending perfectly in with the level and character art.

This is sadly, one of the most beautiful BUT underrated game ever. Just imagine a modern remake....

One of my all time favorite SNES games and one of the most underrated.

No damage versus the dark demon... Probably the player of this longplay is the demon itself.

One of my favorite games of all time. Brings back so many memories.
  • Definitely a must for any SNES fan , I played this for about an hour last saturday , with headphones and the experience was superb , the OST and sound FX were top notch at that time .
  • Very underrated game. Late release, great graphics, great music. Great replay value, being that you have a 3d world map that let's you choose your battles, and you can beat the game without finding all the crests, powerups, and without killing all the bosses.

Nintendo has added this masterpiece of an SNES to the Switch
  • I remember renting this game back in the 90's and the one thing that stood the most for me in this game, was the creepy and eerie soundtrack... This game was amazing!

Something of a perfect balance of the old 16 bit backgrounds that lend a great breath taking view with just enough left for the power of your imagination to bring the rest of it depth. Such a pleasant effect.

One of, NO, this is the best horror action game in 90's. Best graphic, charming gameplay, multi ends, wonderful bosses-with 90's style.
  • Demon's Crest is really one of my favorite SNES games. I rented it on and off for years before I finally found a used cartridge for sale, and I still pull it out to play it occasionally;

I came way too late in touch with this masterpiece...Ive first heard it it was a spinoff game from Super Ghouls n Ghosts Firebrand and years later able to play it on the Switch...Amazing and yet horror-aesthetic game Ive ever played!
  • DAMN! That final boss fight was INTENSE!!! Platinum trophy for you champ. Can't believe this is the first I've ever heard of this game after spending at least 65% of my childhood on the SNES lol

I was born in 90 so i was pretty damn young when i played this and never got far. The sights and sounds are bringing back hardcore feelings.

This game needs a sequel so bad, why it doesn't get one? Its such a good game for its time. Even just thematically, its really cool. A bunch of demons fighting for magic power stones in a destroyed world full of monsters? That only sounds like a great idea for a game.
  • The sound the statue boss makes as he reforms reminds me of my whole family cracking up Xmas morning cause my brother called it the fart bird. Good times

This is my first Metroidvania game. I replay it about 2-3 times in my childhood. I really hope that they can remake it.🥰

What a classic. I didn't know about this game when I was a kid, only found out about it when I was a late teenager. It's like Megaman mixed with Super Ghouls n Ghosts.
  • The music from the beginning just hit my heart. How can someone put so many inspiration and patience in 16 bit game ost? Games is Art, not a product
