Wish everyone a Happy 4th of July! It’s 2024. In a few more days I will be celebrating 56 years living in the U.S., first as a legal immigrant from Saigon, South Vietnam, and in 1975 I became an American citizen. May God bless the United States of America with Peace, Love, Unity, and Prosperity.
  • I always listen to this beautiful song on 4th of July…in celebration to this beautiful country of freedom…AMERICA…the country my parents worked so hard to become US Citizens( my Mother cried when they gave her a small American flag, which she still has) and raise their children here for a better life. 🇺🇸🙏❤️

My mother was born in Ireland and so were my paternal grandparents..I sometimes think of what they went through to come here and have a chance for something better !!!
  • I liked this song as a kid growing up in the 80s, but wow, it has taken on a whole new level of meaning as an adult and I get a little emotional listening to the lyrics now. My family immigrated here to the U.S.A. and I was a baby immigrant at that time (less than a year old). God bless our country. 🇺🇸 Happy birthday, Neil!

My grandparents also immigrated seperately from a distant village in russia. Many difficulties but finally were deposited in canada and had to. Enter America from there , another difficulty but finally were able to come through the canadian border to America, entering MICHIGAN where they settled and where my dad and aunt were raised. They had so very many struggles and hardships to get here but were determined . THANK GOD. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Was on a business trip on 9/11, airports shut down and I drove 500 miles home. Heard this on the radio and it lifted my heart and got me home. Shameful when they stopped playing it for fear of upsetting some people! I’m a proud 3rd generation American!!!

I LOVE this song. It was what they played when my family immigrated to America in 1977 as refugees after South Vietnam fell........the Americans were far more compassionate, empathetic and opened up their nation and hearts to us. I will NEVER forget how much love they showed us. God Bless us all as our great nation has fallen into such darkness: I pray that the REAL patriots will speak out and act up and say that the way our nation treats immigrants is not acceptable and that great experiment of a country is COMPRISED of many immigrants who come together to be Americans. God Bless us all.
