Better Together Life means that our family is better when we are all together. Which is a good thing because we have a lot of kids. But it is our mission to create entertaining and inspiring stories for people like us who want to do what we do.

  • Everyone used to laugh at mobile homes, now look at us in a country with a economy so inflated that our goal is a shed
  • @debdarroch4233
You have to remember these are just the shell, no insulation or interior walls. That would change the noise level.
  • I have OFTEN looked at those sheds and thought, "I could make that a house." Button SMASHED 😆

I was born in a tiny home. Mom and and dad had 8 kids 3 bedrooms 1 bath front room kitchen laundry combo. 900 sq ft. Total cost 11K brand new in 1953. I have a real tiny home at the lake 2 beds 1 bath and only 500 sq ft. I use bedrooms for sleeping only and spend day on lake, back double deck and patio. Peacefully backed up to 25 wooded acres approx.

Last yr, my son's friend bought this and we wired it for him in a weekend! Elec hot water tank went under the stair landing. Elec Panel was above that with elec service meter on the N end of the building. Circuits went up through upper and lower stair well walls. Toilet, shower, was under stairs, 30" door on rt end. Kitchen cabinets from stair to bathroom door. Wood stove in S. back corner of liv room. Mini/split AC N end, next to elec service. Upstairs big bedroom and sleeper/sofa down stairs for company. His Tuff Shed roof sagged and walls spread after heavy rains! We pulled the walls back in with come-alongs, Bolted steel cables thru the wall headers, next to each roof rafter with turn buckles in the center for adjusting. Then added an L shaped brace above the ceiling and short vertical 2x4's bracing the center ridge. Building wouldn't have passed a framing inspection as-is but the guys who built the kit weren't framers and there was no inspections out in the country... Glad we caught it in the elec rough in stage!

These sheds are better than most houses in other countries. My grandparents lived in huts made of bamboo and leaves so
  • @dejudge6436
I remember telling my husband over 20 years ago of this large shed to house idea... he laughed... Love this.
  • Eventually they'll figure out an excuse to gouge people for these
  • @therosarylady
Yeah, good morning y'all! Thanks I'm so tired on our broken old RV. Thinking more about these lately!
  • @55jplock
I have built a 16x16 barn as a cabin in the woods and love it , and is quite adiquite

16 X 44 ? that's a mansion to me! LOL, my tiny home is 16 X 16! no loft, and NOT a shed but a real home. I love it and its only myself, with a Kitchen and full bathroom on 2.5 acres in NV, All mine! Thanks for posting, you have a very nice home! Tom in NV
  • @KCNOZC
Absolutely. Started to a long time ago
  • @mattparker9726
I HAVE lived in those. For over a year. It seems great at first, but it takes a strong person to live in one continually. For a weekend or getaway place they're great.
  • @miket485
Used to work for Tuff Shed - they are a good company with a great product. They sell them as a shell, and yes, everything else is extra, the idea is you configure they way you want it. Other commentator mentioned code, and yes that is a problem for converting in much of the country, first hurdle is getting a building permit for putting a shed on a piece of land without a residence. They are always permitted as a storeage shed regardless if you plan on converting once up. Before you look into the shed get with the county first to see what they allow.
  • Thank You for your knowledge and info. Discovering your channel has been an eye opener forsure!
  • Well here's my thing. When you buy these ftom the big box stores, they charge you an arm and a leg when you can simply do your research and buy one on line at a place like Alans sheds and you could get yourself huge metal shed for about $6000. Way bigger than these and waaaaay cheaper.
  • @wulfclaw4921
Very cool ! I am almost half way thru with a Geodesic Cabin. I used the hubs from a childrens playground piece. It's back is set into the mountain with a atrium on the raised front of it. W
