Is the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra the Best Smartphone? After living with it for 4 months, I'm here to share everything about some common issues, performance, cameras, battery life, and the software experience after the updates. Let's see if it still holds up as a top choice in the smartphone market in 2024.

Huge Thanks to ‪@NickBasra‬ for helping out with this shoot.

  • That sharp edges, reminiscent of a notebook, makes this phone unique. If Samsung made it round, then it wouldn't stand out from the crowd.
  • @PPLRRN
Ive been using it for 4 months too. No screen protector with 0 scratches. I dont agree on rounded edges, I like it squared.

The amount of people who didnt watch the video but commented as soon as they saw the title is astounding. Critical thinking is dead.

Hey, I switched from the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the S24 Ultra, and I'm so glad I did! The flat display is a huge improvement, and the battery life, build quality, display, haptics, and sound quality are all better. The stylus is really cool too, it makes the phone feel like a professional business tool.

I think people missed what you mean by affordable here. What is presented here will be then available standard in future with affordable phones. This is the r&d early access type stage. And soon you will have similar screen, the revolutionary "Scratches at level 7 and deeper grooves at level 8" glass. Fun.

About the Spen: one major advantage that's rarely mentioned is the superb accuracy for editing videos and photos. Unmatched.

"Affordable Phones" and "S24 Ultra" are two things that dont go together
  • @akor7921
The sharp corners if the function over form… with rounded edges you’re loosing a lot of screen just because “ouch my hand hurty”
  • @mjhieusuper
The S Pen is an invaluable tool for me in my work. I use it to translate and play Chinese games such as Sword of Justice Ray Tracing. It is also useful for editing videos and photos on my phone, and it is very precise.
  • @DisturbedM86
I'm 2 minutes in and already STRONGLY disagree with the comments about form. I hope Samsung DOESN'T take notice at all. I prefer rectangular slabs. Not everything needs to looks the same.
  • @straubroli
Great video and I see you are also a watch guy :) nice Seiko alpinist and G-shock ga2100! what else do you have in your collection?
  • @LeTheory
Very informative video! What's the app on the bottom left 2nd to the left? It looks interesting!
  • they added electronic ND filters and never even talked about it in presentations😭 videographers kill for nd filters but they didn't even discuss them

If you have s24 ultra, get the "Samsung Standing Grip Case" or similar case where you can slide your finger behind the phone. I got this for free in an offer. This single thing is big improvement to how you hold the phone. You can now use it with one hand without worrying about it falling. This solves the "Corner" problem you have as it is no longer resting on your palm.
  • I came across your channel and really enjoyed your detailed analysis, chill vibe/narrative voice, and your photo/video reel. As a guy who had a Samsung 9+ and then a Fold 3 i am familiar with their work. Even though I have been rocking foldables for the past few years, I do look at & play around with the Samsung 24 Ultra and LOVE the screen. Anywyays, I ENJOYED the video and you got yourself a new subscriber 📱📱🤳🤳♥️♥️♥️♥️
  • I just switched from iPhone to the s24 Ultra and love the new phone. I even have to give it credit. The s24 Ultra even charged my iPhone during the transfer process. It has taken a while to dig in. But I'm definitely all in now. I also got the S8 Ultra Tablet. I am a photographer as well and the android filing system and instant connectivity has been refreshing. I don't believe any phone is perfect and obviously not as good as a dedicated camera. But for travel photographers the phone could still shine. I've noticed turning the exposure down a touch before taking the picture helps with the bit too bright processing.

I bought a A14 for my grandma for 150€ and while using it for a bit, I really questioned myself if my next device will be expensive. I am a super long-term user (still use my note9, before that note1 lol) and a sucker for the pen but if the premium phone costs close to 10x more and does basically the same for 90% of the time, it really doesn't make sense. Kinda waiting that the s24ultra gets to the 600-700€ realm at the end of next year
  • @MarsVlogSoon
I totally agree with you on this aggressive post processing issue without an option to keep original photos.
  • @casbot71
The Samsung flagship phones haven't had a SD card slot since the S20.That's a big minus for me. Something that's going to be interesting however is that all mobiles (and similar devices) sold in the EU by 2027 must have user replaceable batteries.

Did they fix the 4K blurriness problem previous phones had when you use the phone with DEX and a 4K monitor? I still have a NOTE 10 plus and despite the 4K hack from the Good Lock app, the 4K screen projection in DEX is still blurry compared to a PC connection.
