Secret of Mana Episode 133: Final Boss: Mana Beast

Although it took a while, this boss has one easy weakness: Your own sword. However, you can't just slay it and charge up with a level 7 attack. You must have both, the girl (YOUR GIRL AHEM) and the sprite cast Mana Magic on you while equipped with the sword to transform the sword into the ultimate weapon in the game: The Mana Sword. Overall, this battle is incredibly easy if you know what to do right off of the bat. Just keep your party members healed while your hero slays the dragon. No charge up is really necessary, since you'll deal more damage per second on average if you just keep slashing with normal attacks. A critical hit can even land a hit that reaches the damage cap of the game!
Once this battle is over, the whole game is over, and Secret of Mana is finally completed!

It was the saddest boss fight ever. Flammie was a faithful companion, and putting him down was like fighting my own pet. RIP Flammie.

When I fought it first like 20 years ago I didn't know that you can use mana magic to make the sword strong. It was a hell of a battle which took around 30 minutes. I needed to charge the sword to level 7 or something every time I wanted to hit the damn beast. In the last minute of the battle only the male character was still alive and all I got left was two candys. I wouldn't have survived a minute longer so you can call it a really close one. Wow, I was so unbelievable happy back then. ^^

Rule #1 of any JRPG: If your final boss is casting Holy/White magic, they did nothing wrong.

This is a piece of my early childhood that i will never forget. I don't think I reached the final boss, but I got far enough for this game to become my favourite game by far. If I ever get a chance, i'll play this game to the end.

I made it through the whole fortress, took over an hour.. never saw a place to save or buy supplies. Now I'm at this fight with no magic left. Fuck this game.

There is a way to take 0 damage from the Mana Beast's attacks. Right before he attacks, transform everyone into moogles with the Moogle Belt and they'll remain undamaged. However, you can't use your weapons in this condition so make sure you transform back when it's time to hit him.

I mean it is gratifying to know, that even if we failed to defeat the evil Thanatos the Mana Beast would have wrecked his shit and destroyed all his plans to rule the world..too bad wrecking him would have cost the entire world.

My friend and I were playing this 20 something years ago it put up such a fight I think it took about an hour to kill the thing and we ran out of all items magic and so on and the only thing we had were our weapons and were using the wooden barrels for protection and we killed it on the last wooden barrel we thought it was never going to die to me its still one of the hardest boss fights I have ever played the games these days help to much.

No, the final boss is the mana dragon. But Flammie is from the same race like the dragons which fly over the wood of 4 seasons.

@EddieEddieEddie90 nope, if you level up Dryad's magic to lv 8 it will last a whole lot longer. tip: also cast moon energy (a luna spel that will cause you to always do crits ^^ very nice combined with the Mana Sword, the strongest weapon in the game (and stronger than max level attacking magic)
