Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - movie Review

Godzilla taking power naps in the colosseum is such a weird but adorable flex on mankind.

I loved it when Godzilla asked "is she with you?" And Kong said "I thought she was with you".

Walked out thinking "Brazil will never recover"

I like how Kong used the baby ape as a weapon and beat the ish out of the other apes in one scene. That was EPIC 😅😅

How the planet in this universe has not been fucking destroyed yet is beyond me

When Godzilla and Kong first meet up in the movie I absolutely lost it when Kong was holding up his hands at Godzilla like “bro chill” and then when Godzilla attacks him he immediately hits him with the pocket sand! 💀💀

“It’s not Madame Web, but…” Dude, Madame Web will be ripped apart for years to come, and I’m here for it.

"The actor with the most screen presence and charisma by far... Kong?" Hey, the same thing that happened in King Kong 1933 and that was a stop motion puppet.

That scene with Godzilla basically going “ N**ga I thought I told you to stay off the surface !!“ while charging at kong whos trying to tell him he wants help not smoke is comedy gold

When I went to the movie yesterday, a dad brought his 6 or 7 year old daughter. It was her first movie in theaters ever, and it was in Imax. She got so sucked into the movie, she was moving in her chair when the monsters were swinging fists at each other, clutching the arm rests when the air vehicles were falling, and just having a blast. I knew going in this wasn't going to be the same kind of picture as Godzilla Minus One, but I love both films for completely different reasons, and am so glad that the Godzilla franchise has room to have both kinds of movies in it.

It’s funny that Jeremy says this movie feels very expensive, as it actually had the smallest budget of any Monsterverse movie.

It honestly did things that have never been done in the genre. The non verbal storytelling with Kong was excellently done. I’ve never been more invested in what monsters were doing. Was such a good adventure, with a joyous human cast. Dan Stevens is the GOAT.

I laughed so hard when kong uses the little ape to smack around the other apes 😂😂

Kong throwing a boulder at a runner was way too damn funny.

Appreciate the no dialogue scene, you knew exactly what was going on at every point.

I saw it yesterday in IMAX. The final 30 minutes were absolutely fantastic! Big CGI monsters having a slug fest? Sold!

When Kong knocked the Scar King’s fang out and laughed at him you have to admit you grinned ear to ear.

Seeing GxK doing so well in the theater must me driving film analyst nuts lol. Shout out to GxK for exceeding its expectations and giving us fans and casual movie goers some good entertainment and we're here for it.
