I really loved this band and was anxiously awaiting the return of Eric back in 1974 and other than Eric's drinking problems, there were many great shows form Eric and this band. Got to see them quite often from '74 to '77 and was kind of sad when the band started to change after '77. In any event, love this video along with Carl, Jamie, Dick, Yvonne, Marcy, George & Sergio.

I used to have this on VHS. Almost wore it out I played it so much. This is a great performance of this period of his. Smoother than butter. Smoother than the brandy he's necking backstage that's for sure!

Love Eric's voice here. Like the soft leather of some comfy, well-worn shoes.

Yo be 21 again. 1977 ws a very good year to be alive. After, 461 Ocean Blvd years were extra laid back ones not unlike Greg Allmans album which along with these years I wore out on the turntable and on my home recorderd cassettes in my VW bug with surf racks scouring the point breaks and beach breaks of Santa Barbara County. Thank you for this lovely offering from England and country and people I dearly remember and love. P& L. Make England Great Again in 2024. Your culture is amazing.

That I Shot The Sheriff solo is unreal! Also George Terry is seriously underrated as a guitarist.

Clapton was massive part of British blues breakout . He is an absolute legend. Guy can play any genre up there with any lead guitarist u can name

Clapton has more than earned my respect, as a musician who’s devoted himself with sincerity to a succession of authentic American musical forms, including Delta and Chicago blues, Chuck Berry-style rock and roll, country, and JJ Cale-style rockabilly. He didn’t get stuck in a rut, or become a parody of himself. And he wisely went back to acoustic blues as an older man, when he perhaps had less intensity, but more character to draw on.

One of the best bands he had - amazing background singers.

Eric Clapton is one of my biggest idols, i grew up listening his albums and his performances and i’m just 25 years old, reading all those comments of people who really had the chance to see him live in his prime is amazing you don’t know how lucky you guys were to see this legend live in his finest era. Thinking seriously on take a trip to California to finally see him live cause i don’t think he will comeback to Mexico; by the way this is my favorite Eric’s performance.
  • Eric was in a wet period here but it’s still absolutely brilliant! He, like so many others were in their prime under the influence. Yvonne also brilliant, of course! And that band!

From George Terry to Derek Trucks... I love how Eric shares the stage with the youngsters.
