Like my drama teacher said “The question isn’t if you can cry the question is can you make me cry?”
  • I’m not an actor, just wanna learn cuz I got nothing else to do in quarantine
  • Don't use emotional recall. It's when you, for example, think of your dog dying or your sister getting in an accident. Emotional recall is when you think of the saddest moment of your life or something horrifying happening to someone/something you love. Eventually, you will get numb to the memory and it won't be important or sad anymore which causes a real toll to your mental stability. Many actors/acting coaches recommend it and it is horrible for your mental health.

Who else was trying to force cry during this video or is it just me

When I “try” to cry on cue, I feel my eyes get a bit watery but nothing actually rolls out☹️ edit: you guys I commented this a year ago, I hope all of you are able to become great actors, and not being able to cry on cue won’t affect that. as long as you can touch the audience, you can do anything<3 good luck to all my aspiring actors, I love you

YES. Most non-actors think the ability to cry means you’re a good actor. This is false. It just means you’re good at crying.

I’m not an actor or interested in acting. Yet I’m here at 3am

I love how he talked about crying on cue as a skill. Not every dancer can twerk, but that doesn't mean they are bad dancers. Not every singer can do high notes, but that doesn't make them a bad singer.

It’s weird, sometimes I can cry immediately and other times it takes a couple minutes lol
  • @anilorac8233
When he was saying: I'm not sad, I'm not depressed, I'm not thinking of having a dead dog. It totally sounded like he was sad
  • Not blinking after a while they burn and feel like they are cracking. No tears
  • i literally just stopped blinking for 5 minutes and nothing happened... i think I'm broken 😕
  • @-kiyomii-
85% of the time I’m holding back tears BUT NOW I CANT SHED A SINGLE ONE!!!!

Mum: *Raises her voice 0.000001 decibels* Me: 😭

I always get super close to crying. My eyes will really water up and I’ll blink, but the tears barely leave my eyes
