As someone who grew up at Disneyland (living 5 miles away with an annual pass), but now works as a Cast Member at Walt Disney World, this is one of the hardest questions to answer. Disneyland has a unique charm and some quality advantages, while Disney World has incredible size, more unique experiences, and a relaxing vibe if you know where to find it. I always tell people that if you want to spend just a day or two, Disneyland is going to offer you the better experience, but if you want to be completely immersed for over a few days (or even weeks), Disney World is the vacation capital of the world for a reason.
  • Like my professor once said when visiting both parks, Disneyland hugs you while Disney World feels like it’s swallowing you.

The small size of Disneyland surprisingly works in its favor. Not only does it have far more rides than the other 5 US Disney theme parks, it is conveniently laid out into a relatively small area, and this makes it more walkable.

Thank you for calling out Disneyland entry procedures. There is nothing more infuriating than going through that line to go through the turnstiles when you know how much easier it is to do at DW.

Astro orbiter at Disneyland USED to be elevated but we have “Rocket Rods” to blame for Astro Orbiter being relocated to the entrance of Tomorrowland.

I personally cannot live without Epcot, Animal Kingdom, the resorts or Disney Springs. Disney World is my home.
  • Disneyland feels more like a home with more of a sense of calm welcoming tbh, just somewhere that feels safe and familiar, compared to the larger scale of Disney world, where as Disneyland feels quiet, Disney world feels loud
  • Disney World is my home park so I kinda have to prefer that one. Disneyland is probably the better park tho. They’re all really fun parks at the end of the day. That’s what really matters if you ask me…

This was a fun video Offhand but as an Australian, my experiences at Disneyland have always been more convenient, more enjoyable and far, far, far, FARRRR less stressful than WDW. It wasn't just because lower crowds but just a more organised and homely experience. I tend to recommend to people literally travelling from overseas for these once in a lifetime holidays to just go to Disnyeland because if you don't have a handle or have done your research on WDW, it's really hard to navigate, can be really overwhelming and just WAY, WAY, WAYYYYY too expensive! But you entertaining as always!

We went to Disney Springs like 3 times during our trip to Florida in August. There was just so much to see and do. Even the shops we went into before kept us coming back, like the World of Disney store.

My personal experience is everyone loves their first Disney park best. Whatever you did as a kid is where the most magic is found. I love Disneyland in way I don't think WDW could ever match, though I've only been there once for a half-day. It's more a reflection of Disneyland than anything else. My favorite childhood memories are there, my honeymoon was there, its where we took our kids when they were little.

My theory on the business between WDW and DL (atleast a contributing factor) is people are more likely to book longer trips to experience multiple parks spread out through a mini-town at Disney World. Whereas you get a lot more day-trippers at Disneyland looking to do specific experiences.
  • Went to Disney world as a kid and it’s the only vacation I’ve ever had. I remember we got the fast passes when they were new (around 2006). We got to skip a ridiculous amount of people in line. I’m telling you guys, we got on the ride in a few minutes when the other people had to wait HOURS because the lines were so long. It was crazy, so few people had the fast passes so we got all the rides out of the way for each park in a few hours and would just ride some over and over. Looking back I can see why the fast passes were so dumb. Either way, I had a great time as a kid but felt kinda bad for the people who had to wait so long in line. The longest line was probably the tower of terror and that only took us like 30 minutes. I don’t even want to know how long the others had to wait. Love your videos man keep it up.
  • THEY NEED TO STOP RAISING PRICES!! I'm honestly trying to go and enjoy the parks without worrying about going bankrupt. There's a reason I've only been twice in my life, and believe me, I would've been many more times.
  • You mentioned ambiance a bunch, so what drives me crazy is the push to do things on the app, is everyone is staring at their phones and missing what makes WDW special. I too am addicted to my phone, but at WDW I want to forget about how many emails I'm missing.
  • I respect your point of view. My experience is that Disneyland is much more accessible. Anyone can choose an inexpensive hotel and dine on fast food and ride an Anaheim bus to show up at Disneyland saving thousands of dollars over WDW.
  • Dallin, I must ask you, as a fellow Tomorrowland enthusiast, what would be your ideal Space Mountain? If you were creating your own, mayhaps for your own Disney park, what would you add/subtract to it?
  • @toddjones1480
It's funny that WDW just replaced an Epcot pavilion with a new ride while Disneyland just put in a major new ride without getting rid of anything.
  • Disneyland is the ORIGINAL. You can literally walk where Walt Disney himself use to be. There’s something comforting and grounding knowing that your walking with Walt in Walt’s park. Disneyworld is amazing and has so much more to offer. But that sense of stepping into history just isn’t at WDW for me, that’s part of why I love Disneyland most.
  • Okay so one of the reasons disney world is so laid back is that's just the culture of Florida. If you go to any place, especially fast food restaurants outside of disneyworld while in Florida you'll notice that. It's cause Florida is very much a retirement state.
