I love how you said "I am my own biggest fan." It's really sweet to hear someone be gentle and encouraging with themselves. Amazing how far you've come. So dedicated!

Great video!!! Having 2 art degrees myself with a concentration in painting, I remember my professors telling me to just paint what I like and I didn’t get it until recently. I never ever speak the words “ I’m still learning” or anything else like critiquing my work to anyone but myself in private for my own growth nowadays. I paid my dues. You have too and the truth is…you can paint a portrait in any color you want and scribble crayon over half of it and if that’s your style, your way, you being you (or whoever is reading this) own it-it’s unique to you. You art the painter. The creator. I stopped painting in a way I thought others would appreciate my work because I was fearful they wouldn’t get it and painting realistic and criticizing my work would somehow be more relatable- no. It holds us back. You’re extremely talented but you don’t need anyone telling you that 😉

The sketch book shows how you have improved. Good job. It all boils down to practice.

So glad that you are doing well and what you truly love! It does show through every video and painting! I have serious doubts about starting a life as an Artist in today’s ultra exposed world. I have enjoyed a 30+ year career and being semi-retired I now don’t have to post to maintain a following. I enjoyed watching your progress in this wonderful book! I have used oil paper pads for similar types of oil paint sketching in college. I see how your doing and I commend your efforts for creating not only Art for yourself but in creating a true community of Artists coming together to create in your studio space, VIA the drawing classes. Keep creating and sharing your art journey with us. Thanks man!
  • @felicityann5460
Love seeing the progress throughout the sketchbook - it really inspires me to get back to oil sketches instead of only bigger works/paintings.
  • @claireonlinex

  • @SimonBoulter
I really enjoy your oil painting videos. I'm a beginner to oils and trying to learn myself. Great to see what more advanced painters can do. Cheers
  • @boyitalian21
u and i would really get along man this is the mentality more artists should have!! we gotta lift ourselves up and encourage and be patient with ourselves, and love the steps of the process alongside the final piece. sidenote, i hope my little art studio can grow to one more like yours someday! with how much art supply i hoard.... projects for ever
