I was thinking about a way to fix my handle and when this idea popped into my head I tried it and it worked. Yahoo!! 😁
After almost a month of no issues I decided it was worth showing you.

Give it a try! I’ll show you how!

Happy Knitting my friends!

A little hint: when your screws are stripped, put a rubber band at the tip of your screwdriver, stretch it a little and use as usual. The rubber band will fill the screw hole and grip… give it a try 🌹❣️

Aha ….. true to your word you did an extra video on fixing the handle! You’ll have a lot of people grateful for this! Thank you 😊. I got my Addi in April so still fairly new .. (76 hats, headbands and three dolls to date) … so no problem with the handle yet! Starting the baby blanket tomorrow ❤. Have a great day!

Thanks for going over this. I had to replace the handle it broke and one of the needles plus I cleaned it. All went well thanks for showing how to do it.
  • Wow thanks to you and your husband. I'm no longer intimidated. I've saved this for sure. I'm so so glad I discovered you the other day. Thank you! -Roxanne

Love this, Shelley! You have taught me so much about my knitting machines and your pattern videos are wonderful, too. I'm currently finishing up your checkered blanket (just the edging to do) and will make a matching koala as baby gifts. They are turning out so cute! Thanks for all that you kindly share with us!

Thank you, I'll use the foil instead easier to come by too, I'm just waiting on the dielectric grease to come. Thank you for sharing your tip for making the machine better. Cheers!
  • Thank you Thank you my machine is running so smoothly & the handle feels so much stronger not like it will break. WOOHOO now I'm going to get started doing all my projects with a much better running machine Thank you a million times......

About the lithium grease, I used some and the smell was so bad everything I knitted smelled like it. Gave me a bad headache. So took the whole thing apart again washed again which wasn’t easy cause that stinking grease is water resistant . Had to put everything out side to try to get the smell out of the plastic. I don’t use my Addis much but will try this and see how it does thanks.

What size screwdriver did you use, please? I just need to fix the outer circle as it fell off the long piece of the handle? Thanks 😁
  • Can you tell me if you can get the screws for the machines. Thank you.
  • Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong because when I put it back together, my gears were jamming on the belt on the gold belt. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thanks.

What if you only have 1 machine? I have the 48 needle, but not the 22 needle.

So if I buy a used king size Addi knitting machine with broken handle under 100.00. I can buy a handle under 10.00. It's as easy as you make it look.
