I just realised the guitars are the horse power of the track.

If you study the history of country and the Banjo you will discover it was created by black people. She intentionally doing house, country, and then rock because these genres were first started by the same community and then became predominantly white it’s quite fascinating. The way she is pushing the door down to help other black artist who may already be doing these genres but don’t get any recognition is amazing have to love and respect her for that.

It's not a country element. This is a pure country song

16 carriages is a literal masterpiece. Thank you Beyonce literally you are amazing
  • "16 Carriages" is my modern day "I was here"...my favorite song from Bey...instant water works from both😂

" 'Texas Hold 'Em' is good, but '16 Carriages' is the one." -- 100% this. Both tracks are incredible yet I find myself going back to this song the most...it's so vulnerable and the steel guitar is absolutely phenomenal.

There’s a couple of meanings to this song. The over arching theme is undeniably long term sacrifices made through life’s journey. But some questionable sub themes are as follows: In Louisiana, where her mom is from. Dead people are carried in carriages. 16 carriages where dreams and fears are taken away. Sacrifice is rooted in the courage to take action, let an old part of you die so a new part of you can be born. Sacrificing for your dreams and leaving your fears behind is the opposite of living with regret. ❤ Her career launched at 16. Her father quit his corporate job to fund her career and the pressure to succeed increased. 6 years later she went solo. And became fully responsible for the whole family. 16 years after that, this song was born. ❤

Thank you Beyoncé for coming out for black females with this because it shows our range. This will over take all the sexy Redds and glorillas and sukianas that have plague and destroyed black female music artistry as of lately.,
  • @sofun101
Woah, I'm blown away by your astute analysis. Excellent!

8:09 This exactly! People are "making a fuss" about the Texas song not being played on Country Stations, but ignoring the quality of "16 Carriages". And we know both were sent out for play.

16 carriages is the only song my husband likes of Beyonce. Now me on the other hand loves most of her music
