Well said, Brant. I grew up in Fort Walton Beach in the 60's (yeah, I'm that old) and we always disparaged the tourists because they got lost and drove slowly. But now I realize they were just trying to enjoy a little time in the paradise we live in every day. I still live in Florida and do most of my fishing in what is considered a tourist destination. I go out of my way to explain what I'm fishing for and make the experience a little more interesting and pleasurable for those I meet on the beach. They do boost the local economy but they are also human beings like us trying to squeeze a little more fun out of life. Thanks for taking the time to recognize that. Great video!

I just came across the video and when they stated “Pensacola”, I had to share. We moved from Sembach, Germany to Navarre, Florida. My husband bought me a car and I decided to learn to fish because as a girl (child), I wasn’t allowed to go with my uncles which took my brother. I went to a Walmart en route to the fishing pier in Pensacola and got the rod, and bait. I drove onto the pier, parked and went fishing- I fell in love to a relaxing moment unaware that went pass midnight and my husband called my cell. Wow! Just to share!

I watch a few fishing videos but Ron is my favorite wing man." No. I don't want to reel in your stupid fish". I can fish with that guy.

Nice to see this pier. My mom's ashes were spread there at #14/15 pile marker. It was a beautiful day. She loved that particular beach. I have been watching your videos all morning. I used to fish with my dad and it is coming up on my mom's 19th year passing so this video was special to watch.

On vacation September 2011 in Pensacola. I learned on that trip there is a strong rip under those piers. Was snorkeling after a few drinks under the pier and the deeper the water the more fish I could see so I went with it. There I was flying like superman past the pilings. I was in disbelief when I reached the platform at the end. Needless to say the local fisherman were not impressed with this tourist when I popped out on the east side to get out of the rip and make my way back to shore. Half of them wanted to kick my butt and the other half wanted to save me. I'm a good swimmer and was in great shape at the time but I was really glad to feel the sand in my toes by the time I got to the beach...lol

Your content definitely puts me on fish everytime I visit gulf shores. Much respect! Your channel is as good as it gets.
  • I have an experience that is almost the same as this one. A man shouted at me into my face on the Kenai peninsula Alaska for using the wrong size of hook (even though later on I found out my research results prior to my fishing expedition were correct.). My hook sizes were just a little bigger than his. I was catching more than him. He got so mad he ended up making me the bad guy in the entire line of fishermen close to us. I felt so bad being wrong even though I thought I've done all my research before I took that fishing expedition. These years later on, I keep on wishing to meet that man again --- just to give him a smile... my smile is not very good. I'm an ugly looking person. But always do my research going into new places. Loud and crazy people scare the heck out of me.

Shout out to Brant for having CMR's back like if it was his blood brother. You handled it 100x better than me. 200% respect for Brant 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
  • @drewferd2720
Gotta love it when someone talks down to someone that’s a grown ass man. Regardless if you were right or wrong, you can’t tell that guys never been punched in the mouth before. I’ll gladly give him that lesson
  • The pier worker handled it wrong. There is always an easy way to deal with people without being an ass. Great video, Brant! Stay Safe and Healthy
  • WOW! Pensacola Beach! Brings back OLD Memories! I flew UH-1's in the Army and flew into Pensacola NAS often. Used to go to Pensacola Beach and enjoy the time and relax. Great food. Thank you ~ Peace & Health

I'm glad you keep making videos. You have become one of the favorites on YouTube because of the fact that you are and you should tell the rest of the Clickbaiters to get more content! Love your stuff!!!

Ron's such a cool and laid back individual, I want to be like Ron when I grow up!
  • I’ve never heard that no multiple rod rule. We fished that pier all the time with 3 or 4 rods
  • I have fished that pier few times and yes there’s a sign when you enter about the number of rod’s allowed per angler. But I have used 2-3 rods at a time and never had encountered this reaction from the staff.
  • Great video, people get so possessive and the locals don’t realise that your helping keeping the peer going by paying. Hopefully they will work it out soon, Ron your luck gonna change and you will catch more than Brant, keep safe
  • @jdwragg4296
Brant, we’ll said at the end of the vid. I fish downtown Chicago and see fellow fisherman being rude to tourists all the time. Grinds my gears! Personally I love talking about my city and the fishery we have with the lake and river. Keep rockin.
  • I, as a “real” Karen totally agree with you. We lived at Carolina/Kure Beach in NC for 5 years & since we left, I follow a FB page of locals bashing the tourists & saying they need to go elsewhere. I always welcomed tourists & made several friends fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, the attitude of the locals now is embarrassing for us to say we even lived there. Fish on & best wishes for you & your family!
  • I was born in Pensacola but I live in Atlanta now. I learn from you on where to go when I come to my hometown, so basically I am a tourist. Thanks for the great words to the pier attendant and to businesses. You are a class act.
