  • This video is the perfect example of the original benefit of YouTube. Clear, concise and informative.
  • You are a lifesaver. It stopped in the middle of 4 acres. There was no way I was going to be able to get it out of there on my own. I am sending your video to all the ladies I know. Thank you so much
  • Excellent.... Straight to the point of matter, and no BS. A lot of people that do this type of thing to help others, can learn A LOT from your presentation. Excellent!!!

Thanks for the great video Jim ! After mowing my front yard this weekend, my 19 yo JD L110 wouldn't start when I started to mow the backyard, found your video and did the checks you suggested and it was my fuse and the brake safety switch had dislodged out of the bracket. Put in a new fuse and put the switch back in and was good to go !!
  • Thank you, thank you , Thank You!!! Never in a million years would I have known to check the break safety connection. Mine was loaded with gunk and I got no start. After cleaning it, it started like a charm😁 I also checked every part you showed in the video. Saved me $hundreds. May God continue to bless you and use you to bless others! Thanks Calvin

My lawn tractor, pretty much just like yours, was running fine today. Stopped in the middle of the yard to do something, hopped back on to start it, and it just clicked. Battery had plenty of juice. Watched your video, simply jiggled every electrical connection you mentioned and made sure it was tight, and later it started. I still don’t know which one was loose, but you helped get something reconnected and ultimately helped the engine start. Thank you very much!

I’m so thankful that I found you! I have been working on my John Deere 120 so has my nephew he got it started but it would not start again%. I watch this video last night went out this morning cleaned the safety switch that goes to the clutch (I think) and first try it started right up! I was able to mow everything. So thank you thank you thank you!
  • THANKS! I got her up n running! She’s an old 120 but deserved to run alittle longer and I feel like I understand it much better now. Feels good. 🙏🏻❤️

Excellent video. Very clearly presented. Simple, step by step, not rushed and very methodical. I'm in Brisbane Australia. Thanks.
  • I unplugged and repluged everything, and moved and cleaned the stuff... my mower had went from fine to dead... the this youtube video got it working again! Thank you very much.
  • You helped me SO MUCH. I pulled the fuse, it looked fine but I held it up to the light and there was a SMALL hairline crack. Sure enough, that did the trick. Thank you.

quick tip from a JD tech: while trouble shooting or in general you can start your lawnmower with no weight on the seat as long as the parking brake is engaged. helps when checking multiple safety and power points throughout the ignition system.

Fan-freakin-tastic video!!! Thank you VERY much! Out of the blue, I'm mowing my lawn last Saturday, and my <5-year-old E150 just sputters and dies, 30 minutes into a 90-minute job. At first I thought it might be vapor lock or lack of gas, but it wasn't. I cleaned the air filter (which really did need it), opened the gas tank & checked the level, verified battery connection and charge, but could NOT find anything which would allow it to start again. Came inside, found your video, and went thru it, step-by-step, testing it for starting after each one. Got to the step about the foot pedal safety switch, which I disconnected and blew out, and BAM - she's back to life! Didn't even seem that dirty or disconnected, but that was the one which did the trick. Went back out and finished the job, ran smoothly as ever. Thank you for creating such a well-shot, easy-to-follow list of steps to check. I saved a LOT of time, headache, hassle and $ by watching your instructional work here. It is WELL appreciated!!!
  • Wow!! You helped me fix my mower. The switch that the brake pushes in was off the bracket. I didn’t know it had that switch till I saw your video. Thank you!!

My grandfather has one of these and he passed away so I want to keep it in the family. I will use this video today and see if i can get it to start. God bless and I'll keep you posted!
  • Wow, thank you. As an older single woman trouble-shooting my "crank but won't start" JD L120, this video gives me step by step things to check. I like your delivery, too. Just so dang clear, and good video technique to show what we're supposed to look for. Appreciate it, man.

Even though I have a dixon riding mower for 16 years I am still learning something new thank you mr.jim.
  • @stevewaz4
Thank you for this straightforward video. Bc of it, I figured out my L110 had a blown fuse. I had already replaced the battery solenoid and spark plug, but this video got me thinking about the fuse. Much appreciated!
  • @pc78122
Dude the brake lever safety mechanism. Thank you so much. I have been going f*****g crazy the last week replacing the battery, solenoid, starter etc. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
