Thanks! We have a family piece just like this Morrocan table and tray. You made a beautiful restoration.

I lived in Morocco for a couple of years and the wood is from the olive tree. It’s the most common form of wood used there for furniture. However they do also use almond, thuya, ash and boxwood as well as importing lots of ebony and rosewood. I love olive wood as the grain is always so beautiful. You did an excellent job on this table. It looks absolutely wonderful.

To say that this piece is stunning is an understatement! Honestly, I’m speechless. Bravo, Jay! Bravo!
  • Thank you Jay for a really fun and challenging collab! Lets do this again sometime!! ❤

I had exactly that table. Where my mother got it, I never knew, but I inherited it and passed it on to a friend when it wouldn't fit in my new house. She's still using it and in fact sent me a link to this video. The only thing I ever had to do with it was polish the brass. By hand.

Absolutely stunning. My family lived in North Africa (Algeria and Libya) in the early to mid 60s and we had a very similar table. My brother and his wife still have the brass top as a wall hanging. Thank you for taking this on.
  • When I saw the final results of that big repair, my mouth literally dropped open. Amazing! I learned a lot about brass cleaning and polishing, too. wonderful video

You're a genius. It was the absolute right thing not to mess with perfection and use Odie's Dark to seal the base. Love it.

Jay, you are adorable! You have a great sense of humor, and I love the kitty cat breaks. Mostly, though, you are so talented! It is obvious how much you enjoy your work.
  • "The bottom is easy. So I'm not going to show you it." You said it and I giggled. Watching you struggle with a piece IS part of the fun. You never fail to amaze though!

What a lovely job you did on this one. All the final view needed was a cat sitting on the table! And as for Anders, you certainly do know all the beautiful people!!! 😺
  • My parents had a nearly identical table to this one, except the top was oval. It had a smaller round companion that was used as an end table. I recall them as being impossible to clean properly with what was available at the time. You did a fantastic job on this one.
  • I have a smaller version of this table in my living room. It definitely could use a polish job. I also have one the same size as the one you just finished but it is made of copper. You did such a good job on your table. I can’t wait to see what you have for us next.

Wow Jay! What a beautiful piece. I knew I was gonna like this project the moment you revealed the piece you’d be working on. Stunning piece made even more stunning by your expert craftsmanship. By the way, I really like the videography technique you used. I loved the new intro and I liked that you narrated as you worked instead of overdubbing audio narration. Great craftsmanship, both with the project and with the videography.

That table looks fabulous!! The repair you did on the leg is perfect!!!

I love the little indian carved wood occasional tables that quite often have brass inlay patterns on the top because they're beautiful and can conveniently fold up. This is much better, though (not to mention bigger), si I'm now a convert from Indian tables to Moroccan ones😂. The table base is beautiful, and the brass top came out so nicely thanks to all your hard work and perseverance.
  • This is such an interesting piece. It makes me think of the Greco Roman style/decor. It looked like garage sale when you bought it but when you got done?! Then it looked like showroom top stock!! Great job Jay, you always make it fun. I think your furry fans also enjoy your projects. ❤
  • @lindabehling7565
It turned out amazing! Another great job, Jay. Thanks for sharing

As always, excellent work. That wood (think you said it was almond wood) is beautiful. As for polishing the brass top, if I had. Dollar for every container of Brasso I went through when I was in the Navy, I’d be retired on a tropical isle. 😊
  • As a moroccan. I can tell you that this is juniper wood. thank you for giving a second life to this authentic piece.
