The way Magnus makes his 'way of playing' chess seem like it is normal for GMs to play that way is astounding. He just keeps coming up with weirder ways to annihilate his opponents. Unmatched endgame tactics, lovely to see.

Did Magnus just show us mere mortals the IMPOSSIBLE LESSON: the superiority of the two knights over the two bishops in a semiopen position where the bishops are usually the better pieces.
  • @KingoftheWelsh
Great recap, funny quips and pics. Thanks for another, cheers

Epic Chess is becoming my favourite recap channel. I just wait for all those metaphors, anectdotes and colorful language to kick in. Agadmador has his own shtick but this is next level recapping

Magnus is so confident in his end game that he has no problem getting there on his terms. He initiates the exchange of all the major and minor pieces! Brilliant!

If you're not at 100k subscribers by July 1, 2024, I'd be surprised. I (almost) always enjoy your reviews.

I really like your commentating style. Great watch. Great channel. You will blow up for sure. Cheers.
  • I watch Agadmator every day because there are some things I really like-well spoken, very strong name annunciations, routines, interesting knowledge, and he doesn't push his opinions (like with Hans), and he plays chess like someone who isn't an expert. I like him and his channel Some things I don't really like-he goes too far on tangents which are confusing, he never replies to any comments (that I've seen), he never mentions channel that may be competitive to his, he doesn't show videos he didn't make. You seem like a corrective action. I like that you mention others and their videos. You even show others videos. I like how tangents are in a different visual setting. I haven't watched you long enough but wouldn't mind watching you play a little. I like your videos and am rooting for you. I do have one thing that perhaps someone could think of. I think the openings of chess can be better organized-almost as an outline. Fifty years ago I learned all the planets by "man very early made jars stand up naturally, period". I learned that every good boy does fine. I learned many lists like this. I think chess opening could be organized and learned better with little tricks. It would take a lot of effort but I would love a video of it. I lack a good enough knowledge to do it myself, or I would. I haven't played chess in decades. I've never played on line. In high school I won every tournament and played against other schools and beat them. I haven't played since but watch videos almost every day for the past2 or 3 years.

I don’t play chess but enjoy your channel and commentary. One thing I have noticed is that you nearly always say the best move “is”. You are basically quoting the move most players would play and Magnus doesn’t play that move and usually wins. He defies convention which is why he is so enjoyable to watch.
  • Aero bars.... "The process of manufacturer was patented in 1935 by Roundtree's in York,England"
  • Wesley just outplayed I just wonder what goes through Magnus’s mind as the game is being played he must be the best at getting passed pawns going definitely one of his strengths passed pawns and end game Thanks for the Game the pics are mad cool I enjoy how you add those things in to spruce up your dialogue Cheers James
