Great video - thanks for sharing. I grew up on E. 47th St. and remember running over to the "hump back bridge" and watch these come barreling through on rare occasions. That whistle is something you never forget.

God, what a beautiful machine. While diesel and electric locomotives can be impressive, they just don't compare to steam ones. The sounds they make, like living, breathing entities combined with the whirligigs and moving mechanisms we can actually see make for a rewarding and unforgettable experience. Such an incredible sight!

It's so beautiful to hear the steam engine accelerating away from the camera.. Seems like it got the hang of it, after passing the level crossing..
